sdrawkcab321
Some guys are just meant to be assistants.

AnAngryAmerican
Of course they did. We’ve seen this story before - Belichick assistant gets a HC job, fails spectacularly, returns to the comfort of Foxboro or to sails south for Tuscaloosa. cp0k2
He's going to be assistant water boy and responsible for cutting the sleeves off Belichick's hoodies.
DutchFalcon
Dude did good work in NE. He might not be HC material but not reason why he couldn't contribute. If I was a Pats fan I'd be happy with this.
Broncofan
I'm waiting for the presser where Patricia's job description comes out as follows: "He will make many phone calls and have many meetings"

Uncle Buck
It seems that what it all comes down to is that being a head coach is a lot different than just being a coordinator. Some guys can make the jump and some can't. There's no shame in giving it a try if the opportunity presents itself. Matt Patricia was a good enough coordinator to get the job offer in Detroit, so he can probably offer some benefit to the Patriots if he goes back there. Best of luck to him.
