RabidPanther89
Favre easily. Nobody was ever afraid of Drew Brees. Favre on the other hand was a feared player for opposing teams. Brett was a gunslinger and made poor decisions at times but he was also incredibly clutch, good mobility and a cannon arm. Some might argue Brees had more mental acumen for the game but Favre had his own way of doing things. Brees played in a dome and was a stat padder for most his career, and as of late has been a liability with the game on the line. If you had to pick one to win you a football game, the answer is Brett Favre.

Uh, Favre was well known for throwing boneheaded picks that cost the team games.

El Ramster
Favre was actually considered the best QB for a few years. I don’t think Brees was ever put in that pedestal.

I got my rule changes mixed up I thought the illegal contact stuff came later. But, Favre was too careless with the ball for stretches of his career. He peaked higher than Brees but it’s not like Brees didn’t have a great peak. The MVP are media voted accolades and Brees should’ve won two maybe three. I don't think it was Brees being a beneficiary of the rule changes but more because his defense was so trash that he was forced to carry the team by throwing the ball so much. He put up over 5,000 yards 5 times. FIVE! And missed it by only 48 yards in 1 another year. 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016. No are other QB in history who has more than one 5000 yard season. Five is insane. That's more than just being a beneficiary of anything. Nzd07
Favre. Imagine Favre's stats if he had Sean Payton and a dome for 8 games a year. We saw a glimpse of that when he had one of the best years of his career playing in a dome for Minny.

Favre was fully capable of throwing boneheaded, game losing picks in a dome.

Yeah but he was addressing his stats, not his late game interception capabilities.

ASmithFan1010
I'd pick Favre. He was better in relation to his peers. I am surprised people said Brees overperformed. I think he underperformed considering he had absolutely no defense for a good part of his prime.
