When you actually look at their team from top to bottom it is a very good/talented team so I don't know why people are so surprised at their success. Personally I think they have a better overall roster than both of their last two opponents GB and NO..so I wasn't surprised they beat both those teams. Bucs have been underdogs their last three games including this one and the betting public will be all over KC in this one but I think fading Tom the 🐐 is a bad play. Something just tells me they will defy the odds again. They have what it takes to hang with KC. No one has a better roster than NO. Best NFL roster by far. Top to bottom! Absolutely stacked. Their D played 95 effin snaps against Saints O and still managed to somewhat control Reid. One of the best performances ever against Mahomes led Chiefs outside of Belichick's. NO and TAM were the 2 most balanced teams in the NFL. The shell that was formerly Drew Brees was their undoing. The saying that you're only as good as your weakest link applies here - and even more so, when the weak link is QB. Teams exploit the weakest link mercilessly. NO was a horrible mismatch for TAM on paper, but the improved TAM OL play in game #3, and more importantly, TAM's ability to get to Brees, and force the TO's, swung a game NO was rightfully favored on. The thing is, that KC team NO faced - now is even weaker at the OL and has Mahomes less mobile. So while I give hats off to NO for what they did to KC, suggesting that only they can limit KC to keep it winnable - really doesn't hold. KC at full strength on OL and Mahomes at full mobility - yeah, I don't see a Bucs path to victory. But it's there now.
HolmesPriest
The old saying was "never bet against Brady". That was then, this is now. "Never bet against Mahomes".

Whereas Bosa / Ingram played him week 2, where KC was held to 20 pts in regulation and relied on a late comeback to get there and force OT. And again - week 2 was with Schwartz, Fisher & Osemele in the OL. Tampa will need to score more than that to win - but I don’t think using Von / Chubb & Ingram / Bosa vs. this version of the OL and Mahomes battling turf toe really helps the argument, given the above. It's one thing to miss 1 guy, it's another to miss 4 starters from last year, and 3 from this year's unit. If there's anyone who can cope and adjust the gameplan, it's Andy Reid, but using 2019 games when they played with 1 missing starter, isn't really comparable to losing 3 present-year starters. Like I said, you give me a fully mobile Mahomes and an intact OL, it's KC by 7-10 pts. This way, the gap narrows a lot. notthatbluestuff
Bucs have elected to wear their white road jerseys. It always bugs me when the "home" team chooses the road unis for some reason. In fact, it makes the poster in the OP obsolete. It's like the Bucs didn't even consider that. Edited January 28, 2021 by notthatbluestuff I thought of a reason.

You can't throw that away as if it never happened. The variables that contributed to the lopsided defeats and 5th seed are still there. As a gambler you always want outliers working against you, not for you. A 43 year old quarterback winning the Super Bowl would be an extreme outlier. Therefore I want the sportsbook to have the side of the wager that needs the 43 year old. That type of philosophy won't win every time but if you continue to apply logical generalities like that it's way ahead in the long run. The team of the year was the Las Vegas Raiders. That can't be emphasized enough. If the Raiders don't keep scoring and win that game at Arrowhead then the Chiefs never throw away the season finale against the Chargers. We're looking at an undefeated season. Legendary first season in Las Vegas for Jon Gruden and the Raiders. Starters or no starters, Chargers were gonna beat the Chiefs week 17. Mahomes was ducking Herbert... facts
