I think he deleted some because he snapped back at someone who said Chris Jones owned him lol. Not sure what Thuney will cost but the Bills cap space over the next few years is in great shape and I’m good with the Bills being a little “reckless” and pushing money back while they’re in a legit Super Bowl window. Well if a team who is 47 mil over the cap is able to franchise tag a player I think we should be able to bring in several players and figure out the cap issue as we should be in a good spot next year even if we have to pay allen and edmunds. Trentwannabe
So Butler will be back in 2021... Brown is not a surprise. Jefferson to me anyway, somewhat is. I liked his positional flexibility. Those two cuts freed up 14.4 million. No word yet on what Butler new number is.

Yea I thought for sure Butler would be let go and Jefferson restructured but I guess with Butler having 2 years left he was able to move things around. I hope Addison is next
BillsGuy82
I thought Butler should've went before Jefferson. Butler was awful and Jefferson offered more flexibility

And maybe Jefferson turned down a restructure and Butler didnt.

That hopefully won’t be the case now.
soflbillsfan
From my understanding is Butler shows more versatility being able to play both DT spots in 2020. Wasnt ideal being in the 1T but it would be a safety precaution if Star for some reason doesnt make it back this year or is out of shape etc. It will allow Butler to step in if necessary. Also the Bills may look to move on from Harrison Phillips in which Butler then would be the back up to Star if need be. Jefferson while I would have liked to see what he can do at the LDE spot I think he was brought in, in hopes of being the attack up the middle or outside and he just doesnt fit the mold of what McDermott wanted. Either way I hope Butler takes a massive pay decrease in order to give the bills an opportunity to make a move in FA.
soflbillsfan
A lot of talk about Daryl Williams being the top RT in FA now that 2 were Franchised Tag in which some team who is in need for oline will likely overpay for his services which would put the bills out of the running for his services. We could potentially lose all 3 top guys in FA with Feliciano, Williams and Milano leaving.

Bills don’t have the money to get into a bidding war (nor do I think it’s worth it) with the little amount of talent available in FA at tackle. DER10N92
After the cuts/restructures up until now, it looks like we have about $20m available in cap space just as a point of reference.

With guys like Lee Smith and Addison should be moved they can add another 8 mil to that. Not to mention the ton of cap they will have in 2022. Bills are in a good place financially and will be in a spot to bring in a couple of players. I am good with a Lawson, Jonnu Smith, and a Thuney/Zeitler/Norwell type addition to this team while going in to the draft looking at LB and OT in the first 3 rounds. With the 5th year options for Edmunds and Allen included the bills currently sitting at 60 mil in cap space next year (209 mil expected salary cap, but rumors already saying it could be in the 220 range). If the bills move on from Addison expect that to be increased by 10 mil not to mention future cuts like Aj Klein clearing 5.2 mil in 2022, and Star clearing 4-5 mil if they elect to move on from them after 2021 season. Not to mention Hughes is really the only big free agent in 2022 unless butler turns it around. Obviously if the bills sign those 3 guys then the cap will be reduced some but overall the bills are in a good position financially without making massive cuts and able to be contenders in free agency. Dont think they will get in to a bidding war but I am sure they will offer him something and if a team is willing to pay more he takes it. I still think they should offer him something and see where it goes. If not go to a back up plan and land a guard and then go in to the draft looking for the RT. Thuney would be my top choice cause he is reliable, upgrade at LG and can step in at Center or Tackle as he has done in the past when needed. I would imagine they have offered him something but Williams and his agent will want to see his value on the open market. I see it playing out similar with Milano. Bills have probably told him what they’d pay, let him test the market and see if his value is more elsewhere. With both guys, if the Bills offer is close to what they’re being offered elsewhere, I could see them returning.
Trentwannabe
Chiefs released both Eric Fisher and Mitchell Swartz. That may help drive down the price of Williams. Edit: both are older and coming off injuries so it likely doesn’t move the needle. But it does currently make the Chiefs worse which is a bonus. Some will tak a risk on Fisher the only issue is when will he be ready to play after his achilles injury. Williams is younger, healthier, and better the schwartz so I do not expect Schwartz being an issue for Williams market. Hopefully he comes back if not then OT will need to be figured out in the draft and they can focus the money on upgrading at guard.
