- The original list had 9 players 30+ years in age, this one  has only 8.

- There were only 6 players 25 years or younger, now there are 11.

- There are 34 players 85+ OVR but below Markkanen.

This roster is stacked.  I really have no weaknesses and this is the best bench I've ever had.  This team is built for long term success.  I gotta be honest though, I'm getting bored playing with these same guys for 7 season, so I'm planning to move on to another organization after this season.  I'll stay within this same "universe" but just sign as GM with another team.  The focus right now though is on this season and repeating as NBA champs.

Contract Negotiations

This is tough.  Starting PG Alexi Gornev wants a 3-year $84.56 mil extension and starting SF Al Grace wants a 3-year $69.92 mil extension.  The Bulls are currently $24.41 mil under the cap, with $45.41 mil in luxury tax room.  Signing either is going to push me right up against the cap, and signing both would put me over the luxury tax line.  The issue is CJ Ellis Jr. is going to need a massive contract extension next offseason, and I won’t be around to help negotiate it.

I have an in house candidate in Alvarado that can take over for Grace if he leaves in free agency.  My backup PG Morrison is also a pending free agent, so if he’s willing to take a reasonably low extension I might offer him one.  I do have Quinn waiting on the bench who could take over though.  Ultimately, I don’t think I can afford to extend either one of these guys without doing something drastic like dealing Meeks away (which I don’t want to do).

I'm currently leading the East but its very close.  I have a 1 game better record than last year at the break.  Looks like the Pistons pick is going to be a premium pick.  There's no need to make any deals at the deadline this year.

- PF CJ Ellis Jr. made the All Star team for the 2nd time.

Devin Booker had a season ending injury, but still its weird to see the Suns fall so far.  The Mavericks catapulted upward after adding ROTY Guy Hood and trading for Damian Lillard midseason (man the Pacers gave up on him fast lol).  The Hawks are in the playoffs after picking up Gordon Hayward in free agency.  The Pistons are just awful.

Only differences from last year are Alvarado and Saunders are replacing Pederson and Troy Daniels at the 2 & 3 backup spots.  Also, I'm going to try Carlisle as the backup PF as he can shoot, but if I feel like I'm missing Hansen's defense I might change the rotation against certain matchups.

Summary

LOL.  This game was a joke.  These guys can’t compete with my team at all.  I’m not going to even bother playing this series, I’m going to sim the rest of it out.

But lets talk about some of the new guys.  SG Brent Saunders and SF Felipe Alvarado both move well, enough that they could be starters.  I didn’t really need them to do much cause everyone else was going off, but Alvarado scored 4 points and picked up 4 rebounds, while Saunders didn’t even take a shot but had 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Seemingly back from the dead was PF Donnie Carlisle.  He hit EIGHT 3 pointers in the game, which completely blew the game wide open.  He added a whole new element to my 2nd unit.

I also need to point out that C Carson Meeks got a triple double the old fashioned way, with 18 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 blocks.  Lol he completely owned them all game.

Like I said I’m going to sim this series out and move on to the next opponent.
