If the NFL finds a single text message from a single member of the Texans FO to Buzbee then they will be within their rights to void the Watson contract and make him a free agent. You don't get to commit crimes to keep the "prisoners" in line.

(Cal's dad called the players 'prisoners')

Voiding the contract would open up an interesting wormhole of the already paid guarantees. I think it's be more likey ownership would be "stripped" in a sense with a sales being forced and then Watson getting traded for nothing to wherever he wanted. I would say I can't see an owner or FO personel being that stupid but the Texans haven't had a good history with having brains lately

Innocent until proven guilty but there might be too many accusations to just brush this aside.  If they are true then wow.

So far there are 2 accusations - no force, no deliberate contact.  “Inappropriate requests”.   And Watson left at request.

The kicker - this is the plaintiff side alone.    And this is in the context where there was an approach for a financial settlement made first.   Besides the crazy method of social media disclosure yesterday.   And again it’s the same method chosen for the 2nd case.

The same standard for Watson applies - we haven’t even seen the actual facts and the other side.    We’ve been down this road both ways to have learned but to wait.

It can be easily verified if an approach for a financial settlement was made first.   Texts can be easily traced and their content reviewed.    Here’s the thing - what’s been alleged so far sounds like solicitation.  Which may or may not even be the case.    There are communications that are easy to confirm on both the lawyer’s end and the parties.   The fact these other cases aren’t filed for review and Watson can’t even respond is deliberate on the lawyer’s side.   It’s trying to get a trial by public opinion without the facts, just versions from one side.

From a football perspective - nothing so far likely changes anything on his market.  Keep in mind those are the plaintiff’s side with no actual factual review.    That’s why they are disclosing publicly.
