Hello all!

The offseason is upon us and TCMD is starting up soon. I wanted to start a thread so that you all can follow along with what @MKnight82 and I are doing with your beloved team. This one requires less input from you all from his FFMD counterpart, so you're more than willing to make suggestions, offers ideas, crap on what we did, etc, but ultimately this round is the game @MKnight82 and I are playing. I will update the info and links as we go along.

FA Round 1 Results

The Washington Football Team has made a decent splash to begin free agency. @MKnight82 and myself were a little worked up because the WR free agent market was thinner than expected. Allen Robinson, Kenny Golladay, Chris Godwin and TY Hilton were all franchised. That left Will Fuller V, Corey Davis, and JuJu as the 1A/1B options. We went hard after Corey Davis, and have signed him to a 5 year deal. There is an okay out after year 3 as well. We believe Corey, 26, will compliment Terry McLaurin quite well and give whoever is behind center a legit option to work with.

Our second signing is Matt Milano, LB age 26, from the Buffalo Bills. We got Matt on a much more reasonable contract than expected. Frankly, I found it to be one of the better contracts for value given out. If we overpaid some for Davis, we got it back in Milano. Milano provides range and coverage at the position, and we feel incredible moving forward with our front seven now. He's signed to a reasonable 5 year deal that might need restructuring or redoing after year 2.

Our final attempt (and unfortunately this time failure) at getting a FA is we went after Desmond King, CB from the Titans. He was heavily pursued however, and we were well short in our offer. We will continue to monitor the CB market for help.

Finally, the most important piece - Nick Sundberg is back on a 2 year deal!

Round 2 Results:

Washington is proud to welcome Tyler Kroft, TE, formerly of the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals to the team. Kroft brings valuable #2 TE experience to the team. While not a world-beater of a pass catcher, he provides strong blocking support. He will make a great compliment to Logan Thomas while other guys develop. It is a two year deal.

Washington also is bringing back Dustin Hopkins. Hopkins has been the PK for Washington for the past 6 seasons, but he will be in open competition. We currently also have Vedvik on the roster, but are we done? We shall see.

Washington struck out on two FAs: one was an attempt to bring in Jacoby Brisset. Brisset was not looking for a lot of money and was open to a competition, but ultimately signed elsewhere. We also pursued Solomon Thomas, who we thought might develop nicely along our line, but it was not meant to be.

On to Round 3!

------

Washington has signed two more players.

After Darby signed a 13 million dollar per year contract, we let him walk. We weren't going to come close to that. So we did something similar to Darby last year. We found a cheap alternative. Please welcome Jason McCourty to the team. Jason fills a decent stop gap for us. The corner market was expensive, and we missed out on some guys.

We also signed Todd Davis, formerly of Minnesota. Davis fills that hybrid KPL role for us and can be our main OLB reserve while playing special teams. In my opinion, he is as good as KPL at a third of the price.

--------------------------------------------------------

@MKnight82's goal was to add Mario Addison, DE to the roster to replace the loss of Kerrigan and our rotational DE. We finally got him to a price point we wanted and have him on a comfortable one year deal.  Addison spent last season with Buffalo, but before that he was a Rivera/Panthers staple. Made sense.

---------------------------------------------------

We have signed Tyrone Crawford to a one year deal.

----------------------------------------------------

We have signed Randy Bullock, K and Buster Skrine, CB to 1 year deals.

So, as you can see, we more or less turned Settle, Bostic, and Toohill into Bendarick McKinney who will anchor our MLB core. We believe we very much upgraded here, and gave up, at worst, our good 4th DT, and a below average MLB.
