Comfortably the best QB from his draft

Dak was a 72.3 rated passer in 2017 from week 9 to the end of the real year (the 2 good games in that stretch were 3-13 NY and 7-9 DC)

  • This started with the famous Atlanta game where he could not play the QB position with 2 players missing from his offense.
    • The week 17 game was a scrimmage, and he only scored 6 points, but he did have an 85 rating. (he rises to about 74 if you count the fake game)

This means that Dak in 2017 over 7 games had a similar rating to Wentz 2020 over 12 games when faced with much less adversity.

  • Tyron Smith missed 2 games and then came back banged up.
  • Zeke missed most of the rest of the season from this point.
  • 7 of the other 8 starters played every game of Dak's meltdown
    • Beasley missed the week 16 game and the week 17 scrimmage
    • Alfred Morris played in 6 of those 7 games with a 4.3 ypc average

Wentz had

  • Lane Johnson for 3 full games and a mix of banged up partial games (4) and missed games (5)
  • Brandon Brooks missed the whole season
  • Andre Dillard missed the whole season
  • Seumalo missed 8 games
  • Peters who was supposed to fill in for the other injured guys also missed 5 games
  • Sanders missed 4 games
  • DeSean Jackson missed 8 games
  • Ertz missed 6 games
  • Goedert missed 5 games and played 6 snaps in another
  • Jeffrey did not catch a pass until Wentz's last game.
    • He missed 9 games, and played 23 snaps combined in the next 2 games
  • Rookie Jalen Raegor who could have helped fill in for the other injured WRs missed 5 games as well.

One of the reasons Hurts had some success at the end of the year is that he runs a 4.59 instead of a 4.77 like Wentz

  • He's better at running for his life
  • Wentz got 19 out of 60 possible full games from his starting 5 O-lineman (Kelce played all 12 with him)
    • Dak in the 2nd half of 2017 got 33 of 35

This is not to say that Wentz should have been better anyway. Its to say that Dak was demonstrably no better in far better challenging circumstances.

Wentz is bad but Dak is good makes zero sense in any context other than hoping rookie Dak returns 5 years later.

Goff has been better than both guys.

Again, this is 2017-2020 and we all know Dak was pretty in 2016 while Wentz and Goff were normal learning curve rookies.

Your memory is faulty. All our WRs were injured. Most of our OL was injured. We had Linehan. The entire offense was crap. Do you not remember Dez dropping like 5-10 balls against the Giants alone?
