Might be possible to find people's reactions there and just extrapolate. lol I think the Pats would've still reworked the offense even if they won it all. Belichick was never content to rest on his laurels even after a title. He got Corey Dillon in '04 because he saw that the team couldn't run the ball in '03. There wasn’t Twitter or hot take morning shows on every station overreacting to the nth degree. He was lucky in that regard as were a lot of guys, lol.. childofpudding
2006 AFCC and the 4th and 2 game are perfect examples of the fear that Manning struck in the minds of opposing coaches. The fear of Manning figuring you out, exposing you and coming back from seemingly any margin.
AlexGreen#20
That having a family with deeply integrated NFL roots saves you so much media questioning about why you sucked in the playoffs?

I don't think Manning from 1999-2001 was the same player as he would be from 2003 onward. Particularly in the playoff he struggled early in his career, and it wasn't like he didn't have weapons on offense.

I mean outside of the MVP because if so you should probably list Matt Ryan's 2016 year then. Edited February 5, 2021 by Chargers

No QB really stood out in 2002, including Manning. Gannon was easily the best QB in the league that year. He won MVP and it wasn't close, made a Super Bowl Appearance, #2 Overall Offense, and #1 Pass Offense (#2 Pass Offense wasn't even close). In Ryan's case in 2016, Brady was right there, and in the middle of a reign. 2001 was the end of Warner's reign, and 2003 was the start of Manning's reign.
