Stats without context gets your team backing up a Brinks truck for LeVeon.

Ability without performance (stats) gets you locked into that fight for 3rd or 4th in your division.

Chris Hogan averaged 438 and 3 his last 2 years in Buffalo.

  • He averaged 550 and 4 in New England.

It was a good signing, but his stats were pretty much who he was + some Brady factor.

816 and 4 Marvin Jones in Cincy turned into 860 and 7.2 per year Detroit Marvin Jones.

Ability + Stafford's legendary arm did not make him Chris Carter (even if he was a solid Lions WR with 1 peak year)

Going from 687 and 1 in Miami to Patriots Wes Welker is a unicorn level occurrence.

Samuel is not turning into a 1350 receiving and 10 TD guy next year.

If you think getting 950/250 and 8 TDs out of him is a home run then go for it.

Was listening to a podcast Jason Avant is dong, funny he brought up Culley the other day.

Story went that he pounded the table to get Avant, Culley would tell him he stuck his neck out for him so he better earn it. Avant came in worked hard and great for a 4th rounder.
So Andy and the FO trusted Culley's opinion a little more.
Next guy Culley pounded the table for? Desean in the 2nd. Which that clearly worked.
After nailing that they fully trusted Culley's input enough to go his way for a 1st rounder, and the next guy he wanted was Maclin.

Just an anecdotal thing. For a franchise that sucks at drafting wideouts, Culley personally picked at least 2 if not the 3 top WRs the team has drafted in the last 20 years.

Identifying talent and coaching are two separate things though. Maybe he should be in the personnel department.

Emmanuel Sanders, Golden Tate, Martellus Bennett, Brandon Lloyd, Robert Woods just off the top of my head put up way better production on their second teams.

It was an anecdotal story from over a decade ago. take it as you want. I haven’t kept up with him since leaving Philly.

It’s not like he didn’t coach them after he vouched for them.

Just got off the phone with Deshaun. Said he’s planning to have a night in with Pizza and watching The Last Unicorn and episodes of Fraggle Rock. Asked him if he likes pineapple on his pizza. Stay tuned.
