Leonhard coming to GB for a 2nd interview which lasts for a full day doesn't make sense on any level if he was never interested in the job. Rizzo has already said that after talking with the Packers, he didn't think GB was serious about meeting his asking price. I remember reading somewhere that whilst his asking price was high, he was also asking for roster control. Instead of control over the normal 3 players (K,P, LS) he also wanted to hand pick 2 extra players on the 53 for his ST unit. Kinda what Belichick does devoting a roster spots to Slater and Ebner in the past. I think we shied away from that especially the way certain aspects of ST are being devalued now. He was asking for too much. As for Leonard. You don't make a huge financial commitment on a guy who has the kind of profile to be targeted for HC opportunities in the near future. That kind of financial commitment is only reserved for Head Coaches, not coordinators. Coordinators come and go but Head Coaches remain, especially successful ones. Why would making a commitment in higher salary be an issue if the coach gets a promotion elsewhere? It's not like GB has to still pay them if the coach takes a promotion. Especially with the schedule the Packers are facing. I mean, looking at the 2015 and 2015 WFT roster how many of those players would you say are starting material players? Ryan Kerrigan is probably the only guy I'd say would be a starter on our roster. The DL is full of a bunch of career journeymen. The secondary isn't very good. I'm more interested in the defensive philosophy more than anything else.

El Ramster
Amazing hire should field a top 3 unit ASAP. Underrated pick up. We should see a lot of Packers nation stand the hell up in the General... Really love this hire. @YaddaHolla If you were confident before! You’ll be pounding your chest and ripping your shirt Hilo Hogan style now brother. Dude was very local as a rams HC. Sean loved him a ton. So did Staley.. Top 3 Defense hands down. {Family Ghost}
None of us seem real thrilled with this move, but he's going to have more talent to work with than in those other stints. He'll more than likely be running a Fangio/Pettine hybrid scheme, so our players should be able to adapt. I think the most questionable part is whether Barry can improve his in game management and give the Packers and edge there. There's been some chatter of him being a good linebackers coach, but a questionable tactician as a DC. He's going to have to pick his game up for sure. Goes for inexperience by offering the job to Leonhard. then turns around and says they chose Barry over Evero for his experience. FFS LaFleur! make up your mind! I mean, if Ejiro Evero was such a good DC candidate, why did McVay opt to go outside the organization and hire Raheem Morris as DC?

I was okay with that one ... he'd actually had success in Jax. with a terrible QB at the helm. Plus he was great in his introduction press conference .. just seemed like good dude.
