Jets receiving multiple trade offers for Sam Darnold

I don't think anyone is really surprised by this. Jets clearly will have a new QB1 via trade or draft this year. If they can someone how recoup a 1st or 2nd for Darnold they will be in pretty decent shape as they rebuild.

I wonder which teams are calling? I would guess WFT is on the list.

If I'm betting money, I'm going:

Chicago, Carolina, New Orleans, and Houston in no particular order.

Chicago, Carolina, New Orleans would be my top 3 guesses with the offenses they run. I think New Orleans could be interesting as Darnold is a better QB but almost as athletic as Taysom Hill if they wanted to go that route.

Houston's gonna need someone once Winston is gone.

Saints could be a really fascinating landing stop. Honestly I hope the Bears are calling too. I would rather have Darnold than Wentz right now. Cheaper, younger, and despite not being amazing... his play wasn't all that bad.

I’d take Darnold over Taysom at QB no doubt about it.... but Taysom is a significantly better athlete.

If its down to Winston or Hill starting, who do you pick?

Winston without hesitation. Not a fan of Hill as a QB (He's good as a gadget guy...when he doesn't fumble). He has a strong arm, but is so limited passing the ball. Takes forever to get through his reads, has no internal clock in the pocket, turnover concerns, and has no touch on his throws.

Winston at least has pretty much all the tools you look for except decision making (obviously concerning too). I think Sean Payton can at least help some in that regard, but obviously he still has a long ways to go. Arians did him no favors his last season in Tampa with his aggressive downfield coaching style.

Oh boy, I have a feeling this one is going to blow up in somebody's face. I pity the fool desperate enough to trade first round value for Sam Darnold.

If the Jets get an offer higher than a 3rd they need to call no take backsies immediately

You've got to figure that Houston is getting a QB in return of any deal for Watson...

This, and I have always thought that Darnold would not be in any deal for Watson when the #2 pick is going to be included.  The Jets will be far better off trading Darnold separately, maybe even before they trade for Watson, so they can include what they get in the package for Watson.

Something like a team in the teens or twenties get Darnold for their FRP

Jets get Watson

Houston gets the Darnold trade pick, #2, #23 and a second next year

If the Jets get less for Darnold, still include that pick, but would have to include another 1/2 pick next year.

If New York wasn't the largest market in the nation, I might be more inclined to keep the picks anyway, draft a QB at #2, then use the capitol to build around Wilson/Fields more immediately
