Recommended Posts

21 Offenses Total.

Rank Them. Both Regular Season and Postseason factored in.

Here's Mine:

Best Offenses to win a Super Bowl in the 2000’s:

Tier 1:

1) 2009 Saints

2) 2006 Colts

3) 2019 Chiefs

4) 2016 Patriots

5) 2020 Buccaneers

Tier 2:

6) 2010 Packers

7) 2004 Patriots

8 ) 2018 Patriots

9) 2013 Seahawks

10) 2017 Eagles

11) 2011 Giants

Tier 3:

12) 2014 Patriots

13) 2012 Ravens

14) 2005 Steelers

15) 2003 Patriots

16) 2007 Giants

17) 2001 Patriots

18) 2008 Steelers

Tier 4:

19) 2015 Broncos

20) 2002 Buccaneers

21) 2000 Ravens

I think this is proof Defenses Win Championships... some great offenses here, but the Defense List in the other topic looks way better.

1999 Rams

2020 Buccaneers a tier 1 offense? No.

3rd in DVOA and a QB who was 5th in MVP with a 42-11 TD/INT Ratio...

I think you are not realizing that most Super Bowl Winning Offenses are not anywhere close to great. Defense almost always wins championships.

points per game:

2009 Saints: 32

2006 Colts: 27

2019 Chiefs: 28

2016 Patriots: 28

2020 Buccaneers: 31

I'd like to see where these teams ranked in points for. 2020 seemed to be a high scoring year, and I have to wonder if a lack of crowd noise gave offenses a bit of an advantage.

Good for them. Not top tier. This is one of those cases where the numbers don't match what I saw. There is at no point where I thought the Bucs offense is a top tier offense.

I'm not sure I'd have them 'top tier' either, but how about the two weeks where they averaged 45 points? Putting 38 and 31 on GB is good (considering they have a shut dow corner and a good pass rush), they put at least 30 points up 12 times, at least 40 points up 4 times.

It was pretty potent.

(Nothing on Atlanta's offense that year though)

Yeah I could go with that. I think they had spurts of a top tier offense but as I said I just don't consider them one even the stats look good. The defense helped out the offense/set it up in good field position at times as well.

Yeah if I was gonna rank both winners and losers offenses’s of the 2000’s together (42 team in total) then I think #1 offense is the 2007 Patriots and #2 is the 2016 Atlanta Falcons. That Falcon Offense was ridiculous. #3 would be the 2013 Broncos. So you’d have to wait all the way to #4 before we get to a winner, which is the 2009 Saints.
