aceinthehouse
We played them better, than the #1 seed, defending Superbowl Champion Chiefs. Now granted, they didn't have Devin White which as we know was huge for them. But we didn't have a healthy Gibson, which was huge for that game. I don't believe Scary Terry was 100% healthy either that game. And we had a chance to tie, on a last possession. You see....that's why you root for the playoffs & not a top 5 pick. Because now we know, we are much closer to being a Superbowl contender, than we are a 3-13 doormat. Don't let the 7-9 overall record fool you. (Even though you are what your record is) We we're probably a 9-7 to 11-5 football team with someone on Earth at QB, besides D. Haskins. You can't have it both ways....Either Taylor Heinicke is the real deal & needs to be our starter next season Or He just played well & Bucs weren't prepared & we are a solid QB away, a #2 WR with Scary Terry ability, a LBer or 2 & maybe a LT or OG addition to being a Superbowl Contender on a regular basis. Our Defense did not play well vs the Bucs. Or...they're O-Line did great against ours. One thing I do know... If we can find that QB, or roll with Heinicke? We can play against anybody, including a Tom Brady led Buccaneers. Cause our Defense is already built for it. We can even make it better this off season. Get a QB & I think we can repeat as Division winners. Something that hasn't been done, in almost 20 years.
MikeT14
So your flavor of the week at QB this week is back to Heinicke? Mike Evans was banged up for them too.
MKnight82
It was an impressive performance. But I think what really happened was TB was expecting a pushover and Heinicke played the game of his life.

Maybe he has UPside after getting more time, work and study . Why is the thinking it was "the game of his life". We just don't know . Oh yeah- That's it, we're WFT fans and can't have nice things . Maybe. But he's already been cut by 4 teams and couldn't beat out someone named Nick Fitzgerald to be the starting QB of the XFL's St. Louis BattleHawks.

My point was, we were actually being HELD BACK with Haskins at QB. Another reason I'm totally against any draft pick QB in the 1st, Sam Darnold or any QB who has yet to prove himself. This Defense is ready to win NOW. A great veteran QB could make this Offense way better, than what it's perceived my many on this board. I'm still on the Aaron Rodgers bandwagon as the guy we are/need to get. Because he would immediately elevate the Offense to match closer to how good our Defense is... Which is elite.. Rodgers, Heinicke & Allen/Montez/later round draft pick Would be my depth chart, if it were up to me. But it's not

Took him years to be who he became . Maybe the WFT caught lightening in a bottle . I'm not pushing that narrative but just saying It is POSSIBLE . It's his getting injured all the time that could be his biggest detriment . Small build at just over 6' and 200 lbs.

But since it's such a small sample size and this is his best game he's played, I'm more confident in calling it the "game of his life" rather than just a normal game for him...right now.
turtle28
I don’t think we should be celebrating that we lost in the playoffs or celebrating the QB who lost in the playoffs as much as are. I’m honestly saddened that this is how far we’ve fallen as a fan base that this is now what excites most of this fan base, and it’s just not Ace or a few people here it’s all over social media. What a low, low bar we’ve become as a fan base for this team’s expectations.

But compared to the 3-13 seasons, Jay Gruden getting drunk & walking around town, the Defense having no idea what issignments they have, Players wanting to leave, etc. 7-9 division crown with 1st year head Coach Rivera, Having a rookie win Defensive rookie of the year & only Lawrence Taylor was the other one, Doing it with a QB carousel & already talk throughout the League as Washington having an elite Defense? Seeing the culture change is a breath of fresh air. Seeing it on the field provides hope, we haven't had in a long time. Doing it with no team name? Priceless! I don’t care what we were under Gruden anymore, that’s over. I love the progress we saw last year with Rivera at the helm but we still didn’t really accomplish anything. I love how Heinickie played but he and we still didn’t accomplish anything. I’m always one to talk about the progress we are seeing and could see especially with our young players but at the same time we have nothing to celebrate. I love that Heinickie played well in his six quarters last year but it seems very wrong to me to be celebrating a moral victory like we won the Super Bowl which is what I feel I’ve seen a lot over social media. This team has a long way to go from being 7-9 to being a Super Bowl contender where we all strive to be. For most of the last 28 years we’ve essentially been a .500 team which is what we basically were last year. There’s nothing to celebrate, we’re just back to mediocre. You weren't watching a 7-9 Washington Team losing by 8 points to the eventual Brady & the Bucs in the Wildcard round. You were watching a 9-7- to- 11-5 football team losing to the Superbowl Champions by 8 pts in the Wildcard Round. I say that because if Smith or possibly Heinicke were playing the games Haskins started & played? We definitely win between 2-to-4 more games. What am I saying? I'm saying we're better & further along than myself & all members of this board think we were or are. We weren't perfect this year obviously...we know that & Rivera & staff know that. Like the Giants game we went for the win, instead of tie & failed? I truly believe if we make the right moves in the Draft, Free Agency & figure out the QB situation? I don't just believe we will win the Division again, which no team in the NFC East has been able to do in 20 years. I believe we will be a Superbowl contender. But I'll have to wait to see how the off season unfolds, first.

RSkinGM
Shaq Barrett killed the Chiefs. I know he was going against a back up but most people consider our guy a back up. Corny Lucas held him to one tackle, one asst and ZERO sacks . This guy is well underrated. Hellova F A signing .

I think Lucas & Moses are underrated OTs. We should upgrade the LT position if that’s the BPA in round 1 but, if that’s not then we shouldn’t just take one to take one. I agree people undervalue Lucas.
