Even though I think the 2004 Eagles were a fantastic team they benefitted from an extremely weak NFC that year.

Reason I but the 2001 Rams higher than the 2020 Chiefs is that they had a much more dominant defense than KC does. They also had an offense that could beat you in so many different ways.

04 NFC is one of the worst conferences ever

I think it was the worst ever in terms of head to head record vs the AFC. It was 44-20 in favor of the AFC. Only 3 teams won 10+ games and both wild cards were 8-8.

Granted, I do think the Eagles were a legitimately great team. They were the only team in that postseason that even looked like they belonged on the same field as that Pats team. They probably win a Super Bowl in a normal year, but the 2004 Pats are a top 5 SB winner, imo.

I said heading into that postseason that the 4 best teams in the league were AFC teams

Well you had the best Pats dynasty Super Bowl winning team. A record breaking Colts offense. And a rare 15-1 Steelers team. The year before or after and either one of those teams would be Super Bowl favorites.

I think the 04 Eagles probably would have beaten in the 04 Steelers tbh. Steelers had an insanely low point differential for a 15-1 team and they weren’t playing that well in the postseason. Only got by the Jets because of a missed kick and got manhandled by the Pats.

Colts? Maybe not.

He's beaten 7 teams in the Super Bowl. How would you rank them?

I would go:

1) 2001 Rams

2) 2014 Seahawks

3) 2020 Chiefs

4) 2004 Eagles

5) 2016 Falcons

6) 2018 Rams

7) 2003 Panthers

Are we talking the 2020 Chiefs team that played in the Super Bowl or the one we were robbed of when Fisher went out in the AFCCG? If it's the latter, I agree with this ranking. If it's the former, Chiefs should be moved down to 5th or 6th. If the Chiefs had a healthy OL and not 80% 2nd/3rd string guys then it's a completely different game.

I’m mostly considering that Fisher is still there.

Some Panthers disrespect up in here. They are  #4-5 on this list.

Stephen Davis in his prime

Steve Smith hitting his early peak

Mushin Muhammad

Deshaun Foster at his peak ability was a great #2 back

A roided and stellar o line that was most definitely better than the Chiefs this year

As terrible as Delhomme became he was a better QB in the playoffs. In 03 he was the best he ever was and a bigger baller than Matt Ryan and Goff ever were.

That 03 team had a stacked defensive line with prime Kris Jenkins, Julius Peppers, and another pro bowler in Mike Rucker. They also had Dan Morgan who was a absolute beast MLB. He was very similar to Keuchly before injures derailed his career.

Will Witherspoon was a stud and Mike Minter was a great safety. Deon Grant was a decent starter at the time.

John Kasay was also one of leagues best kickers

03 Panthers could take 2018 Rams, 2016 Falcons, and could give the 04 Eagles a run for their money.

They'd have a lot of trouble with Wilson and Mahomes unless Peppers, Jenkins, Buckner and Mike Rucker just completely destroy their o line. Which isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

2003 Panthers were a mad clutch team with stacked units in the right places

I would say the Panthers gave New England/Tampa the toughest test out of all losers.

It takes some work. Are you talking the Chiefs with that line or an imaginary healthy line?

That Chiefs team would probably lose to most SB winners with that line.

The 2004 Eagles were loaded, went 13-1 before coasting, and the 1 was a loss to the 15-1 Steelers (who also beat NE)

  • That was the 3 time NFCCG loser team that loaded up with Jevon Kearse and TO.
  • They played with a 75% TO in that game and they still only lost by 3.

2001 Rams

2004 Eagles (2)

2014 Seahawks (2A (really close))

2016 Falcons

2020 Chiefs

2018 Rams

2003 Panthers

We had so much talent throughout the 2000s.  That defensive line was just stupid.

I agree yeah maybe we didn't have the best record but there is a reason we gave Brady one of his toughest fights.  That team was built in the right places and Delhomme was CLUTCH AS HELL his entire career until 2009.
