He hasn't played lol

They have the best bench in the NBA, no need

The Suns have almost no size/rim protection behind Ayton. Smith as a top 10 pick has only played in 11 games and in those games is averaging 1.5 ppg and 1.0 rpg. Plus he has spent a bunch of time in the G-League, IIRC. How has that not a meh pick at #10 overall?

Saric literally leads the entire NBA in net rating, by an enormous amount...

Conley was #2 at like +14, Saric was at +23 lmao. Cam, who plays backup PF, was also in the top 10. Crowder also comes off the bench sometimes and plays PF sometimes. So yeah

Saric averages 0.2 blocks per game and isn't a 5.

He played like 3 gms worth of minutes...

Jalen is prob the only big last year who Tillman got outplayed by. He's gonna be fine.

But that doesn't change the fact that it looks like a meh pick. Especially for a team that's looking to make a push for a championship now after the Chris Paul trade. They drafted him so he could be a stretch big that could protect the rim when Ayton was off the floor and play the 4 next to Ayton when they wanted to go big. He's unplayable at this point of his career. The pick looks even worse when Haliburton went immediately after and would've given the Suns a really good backup PG to lead the second unit and an heir apparent to pair with Booker whenever Paul retires.

He's played like 3 gms worth of minutes in the NBA & GL combined... in his rookie year... on a team who has one of the best records in the NBA because their bench is so good...

And that bench would be much better if they took Haliburton instead. He was the 10th pick and is literally unplayable during a year where the Suns have championship aspirations, how is that not a meh pick?

guys it is ok for young players to need more than half a season with no summer training to develop

100% but CP3 is 35 and the Suns championship contending window with him is pretty small. Smith may go on to become a good player but it looks like a meh pick when they could've taken Haliburton who would've contributed a lot for them and been the perfect running mate for Booker when Paul retires.

p sure the Celtics offer is speculation from what i've seen although i'd be all for it

If the Pistons can get multiple 1sts for Grant, they would be insane not to take it. They would finally be in a position to actually rebuild like fans have been wanting for a decade now.
