NBA 2020-21 Season - Game Day Thread (Bring Back The Wolf Pit!)

Injury sucks game was basically over. With a injury like this it has such a long time recovery time where it’s gonna take up almost all the 2022 season with a return right before the playoffs.

Time for MPJ to step up and take advantage of this opportunity.

Nuggets playing for June 2022

now I definitely just want the Lakers in r1. probably just get handled, but beating them in a series would be like a championship to me. and jokic is a god. i believe in him to do wild wild things.

Devastating for Nuggets. Ugly past 2 games aside, they were looking like possible true contenders w/ Gordon.

We have one of stronger backup PG groups, so I could still see a top 3 seed and get Jokic an MVP, that’s all I care about now because with but no Murray come playoffs? Yeah, it’s over. Hopefully he recovers and is 100% by next postseason...

cursed franchise

literally just got to a point where we are actually title contenders and was all in on us being legit like that for the first time since 09.

the season we won 57 games, gallo tore his acl same time of year. that team wasn't nearly as good as this one, but .... i hate it here.

Terrible bro, and it happens in the last minute of a game that is all but over. The worst part is the timing of this as he will miss a good part of next season as well. If he is held out close to 12 months, then he's not returning until March or April SMH.

absolutely brutal that he was just coming off 4 games off. clearly been playing dinged up all year. don't want to blame anyone in these situations, but just really rough circumstances. the short offseason clearly majorly impacted him with his slow start.

Look at the teams that went the furthest in the bubble and all the injuries those teams are facing. Bron, AD, Murray, damn near all of Heat and the Celtics have had some injuries themselves.

The short offseason was brutal for sure.

I think you guys might've been able to give us the most trouble out of the teams in the West tbh. That's why this is disappointing. I was looking forward to a possible playoff match-up. It was the one besides Clippers that I probably would've wanted to see most. I think we could've been in some trouble if we drew you guys at full health with our stars trying to come back at the very end of the regular season. Who knows the shape they would be in or how close to fully healthy they'll actually be.

Oh definitely. It's a good thing we brought in younger guys that can score and help carry the load during the regular season. Harrell has actually been a great signing for that reason. We definitely wouldn't be close to the 4th seed rn without him and Schroder.

As far as forced acronyms go, I’d say this one works out fairly well.

Put simply, LEBRON evaluates a player’s contributions using the box score (weighted using boxPIPM’s weightings stabilized using Offensive Archetypes) and advanced on/off calculations (using Luck-Adjusted RAPM methodology) for a holistic evaluation of player impact per 100 possessions on-court.

LEBRON is broken up between LEBRON (overall impact), O-LEBRON (offensive impact), and D-LEBRON (defensive impact). It is a measure of impact, not talent, and like with our talent grades has an age growth curve where we expect players to get better (more rapidly when younger) over time and then drop over time (more rapidly the older they get) later in their career.

Do you wanna take a guess who has the highest LEBRON (O-LEBRON + D-LEBRON)? @NYRaider

The Celtics were in the playoffs last year?  :)
