Shooting my shot.

Knicks might just be a guy and one more real Julius Randle step away from making some noise next year. I think, maybe, mercifully, they might have "figured some stuff out".

Obviously this is not a small amount of things, but given that at the start of the season I thought they were 3 years away from even being at this point, it's pretty hard not to have a level of optimism here.

Thibs was an amazing hire for them. Barrett has looked much better in year 2 and Randle made a major leap this year as well. Quickley looks like a player as does Mitchell Robinson, they have some interesting young pieces, maybe even Toppin can develop into a player for them.

The Knicks have a ton of cap flexibility this off-season and could put the full court press on Kawhi Leonard if he opts out. They could also go hard after guys like Lonzo Ball or John Collins. Norman Powell will also likely opt out of his deal this off-season.

The Knicks have the cap flexibility to potentially sign two guys this off-season. Potentially Ball/Collins could be acquired this off-season.

Ball - Quickley - Barrett - Randle - Collins

Why did the Pelicans trade Holiday for Bledsoe??

Bledsoe is doing a good job making the fans hate him. Hard to believe he had a rep as a good starting PG before he came here, he’s been so meh at everything.

Also the Pels are soft

We don’t have enough talent right now past the top 2 guys, I’d take a higher pick over a playoff spot and getting blown out at this point. Depth is terrible

Ball - Quickley - Barrett - Randle - Collins

Toppin looks pretty terrible I'm considering him a wash barring significant improvement as a bench piece year 2. But I think Lonzo, RJ taking a real turn as a scorer to get to 22-23 a game at this efficiency, and this level of consistent scoring from Randle and they're a top-4 team in the East. With flexibility to become a real big boy team if they wanna make that trade. Quick has been the biggest surprise and if he can just do... something other than shoot that's a very solid 6th man.

Fun times.

Honestly, same. I hope we sneak into the Top 8 so we have a chance at Moody. Ever since I read that he projects to be a solid 3&D player Day 1 I've wanted the Pels to draft him. 😂

What y'all need to do is keep your books open and make a trade for KAT in a year. Barrett, Randle and KAT would be a real solid trio assuming RJ continues to develop. Not sure if it could win a title, but you never know.

Doubt Thibs or KAT want a second go-around. Knicks need a real star player to be truly competitive, though. The ceiling on a team led by a fully-actualized Randle and Barrett is still pretty low.

Ah, I totally forgot about that.

I'm not sure which superstar will be available in the next few years. Beal, maybe? But does he raise the level of the team enough to actually make them a championship contender? There has been talk about them offering Lonzo a mega deal in the offseason, but he doesn't elevate the team to a championship contender.

Clippers are an absolute machine since the Rondo trade. I know people will be hesitant after last year's 3-1 choke job but damn these guys are going to be hard to beat in the playoffs.

Suns vs Clippers series is going to be a bloodbath, but ultimately don't see the Clippers losing that one.

Also, Lakers likely will have to start on the road in every single playoff series. Last team to win a title like that was......? Obviously if they play the Clippers then it won't matter much but technically they would be the road team to start the series.

I think the hope is to foster enough home grown assets, and use those spots to fill out higher end tradable deals to be able to land a real big fish and make a real run at it. And even if not, just consistently being an above average team would be such a massive step in the right direction for this franchise.

really hope not, he’s a nice complimentary player but it will make deciding to keep him harder if someone offers to pay him like a superstar. Wouldn’t surprise me though

We are the home team every single game against the Clippers. Don’t get it twisted.

But, yeah the Clippers 3 point shooting has been nuts. I don’t know how everyone is basically having a career year lol.

I definitely don’t wanna see them in the first round if possible. Much rather face them in the WCF with AD and Bron yet to hit the court and the Clippers probably going into the playoffs hot.

But, yeah if we wanna win we likely need to beat the Jazz with home court and the Clippers or Suns. I’m not sure I have a preference between the Suns or Clippers if we reach the WCF. Both teams are very good. Maybe Clippers are tougher by a bit, but I wanna see that series.

If the Knicks throw 22m/yr at him then he's gone. I think that would be a mistake on their part, but we'll see what happens in the offseason.
