I think the biggest issue for Cleveland is that Sexton is due for an extension and will be a restricted free agent next year. He's likely going to command near max money to sign an extension or test free agency next summer. One of the Cleveland beat writers said that most teams view Sexton as more of a Lou Williams type of player rather than someone worth a max deal. And at this point the Cavaliers essentially have to choose between Allen and Sexton because Allen is going to get $100M+ this off-season so if they pay Sexton as well, with the Love deal on the books, they'll go into the luxury tax with one of the worst rosters in the league. You're offering a big who was buried on the bench in the playoffs and due another $19.9M over the next 2 years, a very late FRP, a career journeymen, and a future late SRP.
