Mays will be a solid starter, he will get 80+ OVR and contribute, that's not a wasted 2nd. You'll be surprised how easy HBs gain dev traits, I wouldn't sweat that pick. You said the QB is a SS, sounds like you can build around him. Although at 61 OVR its going to be a few years till he's solid. The WR and FS should contribute. Solid first class. And sim stats in madden can’t differentiate between a 61 ovr qb and a 99 anyway so he’ll be okay

Mays is good now that he had a dev upgrade during the year. DL will be difficult for me because I usually run a 4-3 and train DL/DB most seasons, and just do one year of LB training when I draft them. With the edge rushers being LBs now, I really have to split up the training, which I think is good. But it also means I will spend less time on the DL training. The QB (spoiler) will be high 70s before the start of his 2nd season. I spent some points but he got to 70 by around mid year, and had some points stacked that I spent in the off-season. So yes, I can compare him now to an Early 1st talent who is a SuperStar, at 23 in this upcoming class. It's a catch-22, because I wanted to build up a team before introducing an instant contributor at QB and have 5 years of him being cheap, but now he will be the first contract I give out Will depend on how this upcoming draft goes, but I think I will be focus training him again in year 2. Getting him weapons and a solid OL is now a priority, and the defense will probably suffer because of it.

That was with 4 pre-season weeks and 9 training weeks during the season.

JBURGE
FALCONS PICKS 2022 1.02 - 1.12 via COLTS 2.02 - 2.31 via FOOTBALL TEAM 4.02 - 5.02 - 6.02 - FALCONS PICKS 2023 1.00 - 2.00 - 2.00 via BRONCOS 3.00 - 3.00 via COLTS 4.00 - 5.00 - 6.00 - 7.00 - I'm not happy with the amount of picks I have in the mid rounds this year, so I may try to navigate the board with a couplem trade downs to get some more picks. I have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, and that Colts pick for Matt Ryan ended up being #12, so I am well positioned to end up with two really good players if I stay put. Do I want to target some high end blue chip players, or move one of those picks and likely get another 3rd and 4th rounder for moving back to the 20s.... Next years picks are looking good. I am going to look for a deal now though as I still have some elite players on my team. Between Grady Jarrett, Deion Jones, and Calvin Ridley, one will be moved. Grady and Ridley both have 1 year left on their deals, and Deion Jones has 2. That means I likely keep Deion Jones here. Oluokun could be a trade target next year if I am able to fine an ILB in this draft. Let's see what I can get for Ridley or Grady. I know I can more easily replace Grady in this draft, and I don't want my QB to be screwed by giving him no weapons, especially since Hayden Hurst will also be traded (though probably next year for a future pick). TRADE FALCONS RECEIVE SEAHAWKS RECEIVE - 2023 1st - - DT GRADY JARRETT 91 XF This trade makes a lot of sense for the Seahawks. They are never shy to trade 1st round picks. This is projected to abe a late 1st next year. This allows me to not worry about trading down for future picks this year, if I trade down I can use that to pick up some mid round picks. sorry @scar988 The Falcons have declined Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary's 5th year options. I really have so many needs that I don't have any needs, you know, but there are some spots I would like to start filling - WR so I can replace Ridley, TE so I can replace Hurst, OL everywhere, and then everywhere on defense. I don't really need to put a big emphasis on DL now that I have a SuperStar at RE, but I do need to fill some spots there with Grady gone. Corner is a big need as well and this is a pretty good class. The kinds of positions I am looking to draft early is always EDGE, stud WRs, stud LB, and stud CBs. EDGE, LB and CB are hard to find good players late. WR is too, but not impossible. There are two stud athletes and early 1st players in this class, Marcus Spidell EDGE and Taylor Friedman CB. I will take a hard look at both at 2 before deciding if I am going to trade down. My #1 guy right now is Friedman. He is a man corner, ran a 4.36 at 6'3, an has the #3 3 cone #1 shuttle and #2 bench. Just an all around stud athlete. Spidell is also incredible, but he isn't a scheme fit at ROLB (Power rusher) and I did just draft edge first last year. I think I am very likely to take one of those players and maybe trade way out of 12 - possibly down to the end of round 1 and pick up a couple 3rds or 3rd + 4th just based on how trade logic works in this game. I'm going to try to get through this draft tonight so maybe I can stream a game tomorrow night. Other 3 star players - James Randall FS is 6'4 with good speed and is an early 1st talent. For someone that goes likely late 1 or early 2 that is great value. While I don't love safeties, that is the best player I will get at that value, so he will be someone I look to target. All of the others are just later round good value guys. WR Jalen Bogan would be a neat option as a returner. He is a late 1st talent, but with that size I couldn't play him at WR.
