Marquise Sherwood should now turn in to that dominant edge threat that I have needed. I am now super happy that I signed him to that big extension.

Childs now, unfortunately, may have priced himself out. I have some big free agents upcoming - CB Taylor Friedman and FS James Randall are both entering their 4th years. I will have to consider using the 5th year option on them. Childs is also entering his 4th year. I also have two OL going into their 4th years, LG and C, and I hate paying IOL.

This will likely bump OL up to a big need this upcoming draft. I need to add another corner as well. Safety too to replace Enrique Collins who will be leaving. And I only have 1 1st and 1 2nd this year. This is where it gets fun

The Sherriff is about to be a beast.

Mahomes won MVP at 8-8. McGee wasn't even in the top 10 which is strange but whatever.

I think the hope here is that McGee will start putting up elite numbers. I hope to add a WR to the room finally with how the draft looks. The defense is going to be amazing this coming year, I think, with Sherwood's progression. I hope with good health we will make a serious run before we have to make business decisions on who we are re-signing.

Just posting this again. No changes. Enrique I am letting walk, I feel I can adequately replace him in this draft and he is kind of a JAG. Backup QB will be a position I need to take a look at as well. Too bad this QB class is butt.

I kinda meant to tag Enrique Collins but tbh I forgot. Oh well.

This kinda sucks having so many mid round picks. I think I might try to package some of these for higher picks next year, like a 2nd next year plus 2 3rds this year for a 1st. My rule of not being able to trade past week 8 will hinder me here. I should have traded some of these picks mid year. That means this is probably a light draft class for me unless I really like the mid round board.

Team Needs:

Needs for the 2025 draft:

  1. SS
  2. WR
  3. IOL
  4. DL
  5. CB

Corner moves down the needs list with the hit last year. Corner is also a position you need to take early, and I don't have an early pick. Something I might need to push to the future.

The Falcons have declined the 5th year option for CB Taylor Friedman

The Falcons have declined the 5th year option for FS James Randall

I won't be doing this forever, but I reallyt want to sign these guys this year and have the bonus hit the cap this coming year. I have $110M in cap space. Plus, they are both mid to high 80s, and would liek to sign before they hit the 90s. Depending on what Randall's contract ask looks like, I may be making a mistake declining his, but there's always the tag, and safety tags are reasonable.

TRADE
FALCONS RECEIVE TEXANS RECEIVE
- 2026 1st - - TE PIERRE SHERMAN 80 N
-   - -   3.21
          3.26

This might not seem like a super balanced trade, but the Texans are projected to have the 28th next year. Pierre Sherman is my TE2 and going into his contract year. He honestly would be like 85 if I actually played him, but I drafted 2 tight ends in 2023 after drafting Sherman in 2022. 80 is still much better than the 70 TE they have now, and is their #1 need.

I get to offload some of my picks this year that I won't use.

Using trade value chart, 1.26 is about 700 pts, that is current year, but this is a future 1 from Houston.

3.21 (165)+ 3.26 (140) = 305 means Sherman is worth about 400 pts, or approx a mid 2nd. I think that is fair.

Now, if this ends up being an early or high 1st in 2026, then yes I ripped off the Texans.

Nate Clinton sounds like a SS to me. Run support FS who has 6'2", 205 size... Drafting him and sliding him to SS should be a good fit for you for sure. Especially since he had a great FS combine. Dude could be a Lynch-esque SS. I'd take him in the 2nd if he's there. Also, you can finally get a big replacement for Julio that you haven't really had.

Yup. And even doubling up on S with Juan Phillps later on for depth would be smart.

This is essentially the plan... I have 3.6, I just don't think I am willing to risk Clinton not being there, he's a scheme fit at SS and has a really good HWS. I probably take him in the 2nd and miss the OL Lucas.

I pick 21st, so my only realistic WR shot in the 1st is Wheeler, which is fine. Usually these Physical WRs end up with a lower talent than draft projection, but this class is absolutely stacked at WR. I might double dip and move one of the current ones on my roster. I typically carry 6-7 WRs and will definitely carry 7 this year since I will likely train them next year.

This will be a pretty boring draft, if Wheeler is there he's the pick, if not I will probably take Joshua Phillips and he will take over at NT. I could also move down to the 2nd and take both Clinton and Lucas, which is probably more likely. I have 1 safety on the roster right now, so as @scar988 said it is likely I double dip with Juan later for depth. He won't be good but he could be hidden based on the strong combine.

Juan is definitely a backup SS mold and ST guy mold. But if he's Hidden, he could be the gem of the class and allow you to have ridiculous safety depth. That or add 10 lbs to him and move him to MIKE.
