RamsFan24
With this mock I decided to keep the trades the same but change up the players for this offseason. With limited cap I feel that with these additions that we would still field a playoff ready team that is fighting to play in the big dance. Departing Free Agents OLB Leonard Floyd SS John Johnson III CB Troy Hill OL Austin Blythe HB Malcolm Brown TE Gerald Everett WR Josh Reynolds OLB Samson Ebukam Resignings CB Darious Williams DL Morgan Fox LS Jake McQuaide TE Johnny Mundt ILB Travin Howard OL Coleman Shelton Free Agency EDGE Aldon Smith With Aldon Smith production slowing down in the second half of the season, the Cowboys decide not to resign. This works extremely in the Rams favor as we sign him to a prove it deal to replace Leonard Floyd. Aldon is so explosive, and now with a full year under his belt, his legs and body should be ready for a full productive season. Pairing Aldon with AD will be a very scary situation for opposing offenses. If his play can sustain the way it was against Seattle and the Rams, he will have a double digit sack season. Trades Rams trade pick #57 Jets trade pick #66 (2) and #86 (22) The Rams decide to get out the 2nd round into the 3rd round and by doing so grab an additional 3rd rounder. The Jets will still be sitting pretty after this trade with 2 (1st), 2 (2nds), 1 (4th), 2 (5ths) and 1 (6th) round picks. Rams trade Joe Noteboom- OT Chargers trade pick #156 (13) The Rams decide to get some kind of draft capitol in a 5th rounder for Noteboom, as they see he isn't the future LT that they envisioned. Chargers get a young player that their new coach knows, who is healthy and has starting experience. Draft 3. Greg Newsome II- CB, Northwestern The Rams decided to trade back and they end up grabbing a very nice replacement for Troy Hill. Greg is a very talented corner has excellent cover skills. He's big, aggressive, has great vision and is a playmaker. Sliding Greg in the lineup with Ramsey and Williams will give us a very talented young secondary. 3. Josh Myers- OC, Ohio State The Rams are ecstatic as they grab their day one starter in the middle. Josh was the anchor in the middle for Fields on a very talented team. Josh is a great run blocker, very sound pass protector. Myers has very good awareness, IQ and strength. This is an nice replacement for the lost of Austin Blythe. 3. Pete Werner-ILB, Ohio State Yes the Rams double dip by grabbing another Buckeye. The Rams have lacked a explosive middle linebacker for some time now. Werner is an absolute beast in the middle, he is just a tackling machine. Pete is a very strong run defender with good sideline to sideline speed. Werner will automatically help improve our run defense. He sheds linemen well and also has good coverage skills. Werner will be a great leader in the middle of the defense. 3. Walker Little- OT, Stanford Now the Rams run up to the podium when they see that Walker is still available. If it wasn't for his game 1 season ending injury in 2019 or Opting out for this 2020 season; Little would of been drafted fairly high. Walker will come in and learn behind Andrew Whitworth, as our future starting left tackle. Little has Excellent balance, hands, vision, strength and length. Walker is a very good pass blocker as well as a intense run blocker. This will be the best steal for us in this draft getting a future starter at left tackle this late in the draft. 4. Janarius Robinson-Edge, Florida State Janarius is a big and long pass rusher with some quickness and explosiveness. Robinson fits the mold of the Floyd type of edge rusher that is also very good at playing the run. Janarius will come in and compete with Lewis, Hollins and others. He is a day one Special Teamer for the Rams. 5. Tamorrion Terry-WR, Florida State Now I absolutely love this pick up in Tamorrion "Scary" Terry. Tamorrion has all of the intangibles that you look for in an explosive speed receiver. The Rams grab their gem in the 5th. Because of his 2020 season production dropping, due to poor play around him, injuries he substained and then opting out of the rest of season really hurt his stock. Terry was an absolute game wrecker when healthy. He will fill the speed role on offense that we have needed so badly. Stafford will love throwing bombs and jump balls to him. 6. Damar Hamlin-S, Pittsburgh Damar is just an all around solid player in the secondary. He has just been an consistent leader for the Panthers. Hamlin will come in as another special teamer with good speed, awareness, tackling ability and coverage ability. 7. Grant Stuard- ILB, Houston This is another person that I absolutely love when watching his film. Grant is just a fine oiled tackling machine. Stuart has excellent speed and explosiveness, with really good field Awareness. His passion and work ethic could put him in a position to steal some playing time or a roster spot like Jordan Fuller did this past year. Another Special teamer with speed and strong tackling abilities. Projected Starters QB: Matthew Stafford HB: Cam Akers WR: Robert Woods WR: Cooper Kupp WR: Van Jefferson TE: Tyler Higbee LT: Andrew Whitworth LG: David Edwards OC: Josh Meyers RG: Austin Corbett RT: Rob Havenstein SDE: Michael Brockers NT: Sebastian Joseph-Day UT: Aaron Donald LEO: Aldon Smith WLB: Pete Werner / Kenny Young MLB: Micah Kiser / Troy Reeder SLB: Terrell Lewis / Justin Hollins / Janarius Robinson CB: Jalen Ramsey CB: Darious Williams CB: Greg Newsome II FS: Jordan Fuller SS: Taylor Rapp / Terrell Burgess K: Matt Gay P: Johnny Hekker LS: Jake McQuaide KR: Raymond Calais PR: Raymond Calais Edited February 15, 2021 by RamsFan24
NYRamsFan88
Can’t go wrong with this.... I’m not well informed on this years draft class, but the positions of need are met, and grabbing Alston Smith will give offenses someone else to fear other than AD. Yes I totally agree, I would love for this to happen. I especially feel that Aldon will be so much better and stronger after a full year of rust now being shaken off of him.
