Anyone else concerned with Hundley's pocket awareness? I know he had a poor offensive line during the preseason and against Minnesota, but it's something he struggled with in college as well:

McCarthy need to help him out with quick rhythm stuff .. rolling the pocket, etc.  Behind this line the ball will need to be coming out quickly.  Dink and Dunk!

False. Would hope he could be better than Trubisky, but will likely be behind Stafford, and most certainly behind whoever Minnesota has at QB considering the way their offense has been running. Feel like Hundley will have a few errant throws a game that will translate to INTs.

Hundley isn't going to be good for us unless McCarthy completely changes his entire philosophy in literally everything.  In order for Hundley to have a good season for us, McCarthy would have to:

1. Start helping tackles, which he never does.
2. Start playing players who perform in games, but don't do the right things in practice (Jones, Janis, Davis).
3. Completely change his scheme in order to reflect the fact that he no longer has the best QB in NFL history, and start calling plays that cater to a promising, but inexperienced QB.

All 3 are huge things we have to do.. 2 and 3 even more so because Hundley showed pretty good mobility in getting out of the pocket last week. There is no reason why Jones shouldn't be getting 75/25 carries to Ty.

The tackles are healthy (ish).  We can't afford to help our pro bowl tackles.

1) Teach hundley how to throw a screen pass

2) Put in some zone read

3) Call the plays that hundley knows and likes.  Plays that work vs the anticipated vanilla coverages that NO runs.

4) Pass early, run late.  Don't be predictable scared "ease him in" type offense.  This offense needs to score for GB to have a chance in the game.  Play action passes to TEs and Cobb behind their LB level.  That's the weakness of the NO D.

That's the recipe for me.

Hundley’s favorite formation is the bunch and he loves throwing to the isolated receiver. He loved it in college.

So I foresee a lot of that. With either Nelson or Adams as the iso.

Let's hope MM recognize that as well.

Put Hundley is formations, plays, concepts he is most comfortable with.  Expand from there.
