Signing Taysom Hill to a 1 year extension. It doesn't save as much as the IRL extension, but it's also a little more realistic because I'm not trying to mock the salary cap.

The extension reduces Taysom to 1.075m base salary and converts that savings plus his roster bonus into a signing bonus spread over the next two years. 2022 comes with a player option 5m base salary that fully guarantees if the player exercises the option.

Signing RB Wayne Gallman, formerly of the Giants.

The deal is worth $1,575,000 with $500,000 of that coming in the way of a signing bonus.

Latavius Murray carried the ball 146 times in each of the last two seasons, he racked up another 57 catches in those two years as well. This offense should provide good opportunities for Gallman to showcase his talents on a 1-year prove it deal.

Matched Denver FS Justin Simmons contract to re-sign Marcus Williams. Williams isn't as good as Simmons overall IMO but he's highly productive still as a ballhawk in this defense.

Looking to trade up for one of Las Vegas's back to back picks at #79-80... we'll see who is available and if I think I can get someone at 95 if I just hold out.

I’ll just match the Saints IRL move, trading 98 and 105 for #76 to select Paulson Adebo.

Was waiting on terms before I agreed to match, but this is what I was looking to do so it works out.

I like your concept of doing this. In fact I was going to do it earlier with the Detroit Lions or Atlanta Falcons, but backed away due to time commitments.

All three franchises are at a crossroads. I like what you have built!

I was in the middle of buying a house and moving when the draft happened this year, so I was too busy to partake in the late rounds.

There is a zero percent chance I would've traded up in the 6th with Trey Smith and Dylan Moses both available, I would've let them fall and see if I could get one. I would've got both as Trey Smith was going to be picked 1st, considered him with my 4th rounder.

I'll take Smith with 219 and with 229 I take Dylan Moses.

I'll keep Kawaan Baker with pick 255.

I ended up buying a house and my life got real crazy in 2021... things are mellowing out now, but I neglected this for the whole season.

I wouldn't have made any huge moves throughout the year as guys got hurt, so whenever I'm evaluating my season I'll be assuming I signed a crappy player for vet minimum. I had $10m in cap space so I'm not going to worry about retroactively giving him a "real" contract, it's not significant.

Quarterback Runningback Wide Receiver Tight End
Jameis Winston Alvin Kamara Michael Thomas Adam Trautman
Trevor Siemian Taysom Hill Emmanuel Sanders Garrett Griffin
Blake Bortles Wayne Gallman Tre'quan Smith Ethan Wolf
  Ty Montgomery Deonte Harris
  Tony Jones Cornell Powell
  Mark Ingram Marquez Callaway
    Kawaan Baker
Drew Brees   Lil'Jordan Humphrey

At QB, this team would've had the same struggles as the IRL Saints did. Jameis went down, Thomas never showed up, then Taysom went down. Had I been invested, I would've signed Bortles as soon as the Packers cut him on November 15th, Siemian was 0-2 with no depth behind him at that point and I've wanted to see Bortles develop under Payton (lol). Saints went on to sign him anyways, so this works out well. (-$1m)

I'll match the Saints 7th round pick for Ingram too. With Gallman there it wouldn't have been such a drastic need, but I like Ingram. I will not extend him like the Saint's did. I will just pay him the $2m on the year. (-$2m)

This team would've been better at WR with Emmanuel Sanders on the roster. I'm happy I retained him knowing what I know now about Thomas' availability.

Left Tackle Left Guard Center Right Guard Right Tackle
Terron Armstead Andrus Peat Ceasar Ruiz Erik McCoy Ryan Ramczyk
Ethan Greenidge Trey Smith   Calvin Throckmorton Derrick Kelly

Trey Smith made the All-Rookie team for the Chiefs. So lucky I got this guy. He would've helped so much this season, the Saints biggest woes outside of WR were O-line. Hard to judge our QB play when the OL can't get settled.

I crushed this pick, won't lie... Armstead-Peat-McCoy-Smith-Ramczyk with Ruiz and Kelley as reserves would've been a better line IMO.

Defensive End UT NT Linebacker
Cameron Jordan David Onyemata Shy Tuttle Demario Davis
Carlos Basham Malcolm Roach Jalen Dalton Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Marcus Davenport Christian Ringo   Zach Baun
Carl Granderson Ryan Glasgow   Dylan Moses
Noah Spence     Kaden Elliss
Macus Willoughby     Chase Hansen
      Wynton McManis

JOK made the All-Rookie team as well. The perfect replacement for Kwon Alexander. I'm really stoked with him and Trey Smith as two big pieces moving forward.

Boogie Basham was a bit of a disappointment, but he's good depth behind Jordan/Davenport/Granderson. IDL is about what it was IRL, really solid run stoppers with enough push to be annoying.

Cornerback Strong Safety Free Safety Kicker Punter
Marshon Lattimore Malcolm Jenkins Marcus Williams Wil Lutz Blake Gillikin
Janoris Jenkins   JT Gray
Paulson Adebo
CJ Gardner-Johnson
Grant Haley
Keith Washington

Janoris Jenkins instead of Bradley Roby is a wash... Love Adebo, glad I matched that selection. He played great in his rookie season. Marcus Williams was signed last year before I noticed what I thought was a decline in his tackling this year. I'm paying him more than I said I wanted to just a few months after I signed him. Oh well.

All in all, I think this team was just as good if not better than the 2021 Saints. Maybe JOK doesn't bring the leadership/mentality that Kwon does, or maybe Trey Smith doesn't mesh with our OL we have... but on paper I really like the team, and love it moving forward.
