I dont know where one will fit. They are bringing back OBJ/Landry/Higgins/DPJ/Hodge + Jojo Natson as the WR6 and return specialist. Given how much we stick to 2-3 WR sets I dont know if they will carry 7 WRs in the 53 man rotation.

It would be hodge or natson imo. Neither are locks for the roster.

Possibly but Hodge actually played really well last year when he was called upon and this FO tends to be sticking with continuity. Not saying he wont get replaced but odds are he sticks around. If anything Natson could be on the way out if there is a WR there in the 5th-7th rounds they really like.

Either way, Im not moving off my stance of spending every draft pick on DL/LB/CB haha

Good point! Thats why I also think Natson will make the roster because he was brought here strictly to be a KR/PR player which is essentially what teams usually carry as their WR5-7. Natson is a special teams player who can fill in at WR if need be.

He is also blazing fast so if we are that desperate to throw a speedster in the slot a couple plays per game just to scare the defense he might already be it.

Or isnt that valuable to protect imo. It has a lower positional value than a fullback on our roster

Speaking of that, if there was anything I want to tweak about this offense--more Jano!!!!!!! How do you go out of your way to trade for a FB (a pro bowl level FB at that) then rarely use him. Cmon.

Jojo and Hodge are not safe on the roster

Yep especially with the draft coming. We can’t get sone of those rookies to be our gunners and returners

I hope that’s what they plan on doing with draft picks after round 3. We’re not really even hurting for depth. Bill Callahan will make any offensive linemen look good. The secondary just needs another starter at CB, but it has depth. D-line could be the 2nd deepest unit if we sign Clowney and draft a guy at 26.

Imagine Clowney and Myles against Lamar.

You guys are also forgetting how good of a blocker Hodge is. Big part of the offense. I'd say Natson is far from safe with how we've been visiting with a few quick, smaller receivers.

One of the issues our offense has is it completed stuttered when the oline lost a couple of guys.

im not carrying so much about the first 7 weeks. I though the OL was just fine outside of the jets game but that was a horrible game to go by because so many players were out. down to your 3rd RG and you lose your LT before the game to go a long with the entire WR corps being unavailable.

idk hodge is 6’2 and runs at least 4.4. at the FCS combine he was closed at 4.39. browns could easily have let him walk but they tendered him and kept. I believe they really like his ability to go along with his willingness to be a blocker

I mean, our WRs are not bad. They are not overly dominant but with OBJ back we probably have a top 6-10 group in the league 1-4, especially considering the leap DPJ could take in his 2nd year.

I just dont see the need to spend anything higher than 6th on another WR unless they are hellbent on trading OBJ.

I think that is overeating our wr.

Higgins got nothing on the open market.

Obj wasnt on pace for a 1k yard even if you take out the bengals game. He didnt even have a 100 yard game as a reciever

Jarvis had one  game for 100 yards.

We have the most over payed receivers in the league with Landry and OBJ, and it's more likely they are both off the roster next year than on it.

I think the counting stats can be because of the offensive system being so run dominant, that and we seem to get out TEs and RBs involved quite a bit.

Agreed though on OBJ being long-term, I think this has to be his last season here. As far as Jarvis, he's not a #1 but man does he seem to make the offense go. He's so reliable on 3rd down and in big moments when a play needs to be made.

I hope they find a way to keep him here long term. He does wonders not only for the offense but also as a leader/lockerroom guy
