How many people don't wear seat belts or don't wear helmets on a motorcycle or smoke all of their lives? People are literally dieing from all of that among other things caused by choices that they make every day If we can get to a point where stupid people making stupid decisions only leads to stupid consequence for the stupid people, I say let it ride without a helmet.
Blackstar12
The more information that comes out about the JJ vaccine. The more I’m happy I took the pfizer shots.

vikesfan89
That sounds like a long term side effect. I take it it's pretty rare since there was no mention of it after the trials?

And of the 100, they’re still trying to figure out which is still because of the vaccine. Very rare indeed. Quote Although the available evidence suggests an association between the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and increased risk of Guillain-Barré, “it is insufficient to establish a causal relationship,” the FDA said. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/07/12/johnson-and-johnson-warning/%3foutputType=amp Edited July 12, 2021 by Xenos

Xenos
Even though I’m team Pfizer, I feel like the J&J vaccine has its own advantages and is getting dumped on too much. The one shot provides a convenience that cannot be overstated. Using it on the homeless population for example. Additionally, if we’re going to be picky spoiled brats about this vaccine, then donate it all to countries that need it more than we do.
ramssuperbowl99
100 in 12.8 million is less than our precision of measurement. IMO, that's noise until there's a mechanism to explain it.

TVScout
Not free: Opinion: Vermont’s and South Dakota’s covid infection rates are remarkably similar — but their outcomes are not. Quote While nearly 75 percent of Vermonters have had at least one vaccine shot, putting the state near the threshold for herd immunity, only half of South Dakotans have had at least one shot. Adjusted for population, nearly six times as many people died in South Dakota from covid-19 as in Vermont (230 per 100,000 in South Dakota compared to just 40 per 100,000 in Vermont). In real numbers, while about 250 Vermont residents died from the disease, more than 2,000 South Dakotans died. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/07/13/vermont-south-dakota-covid-19-lessons/
vikesfan89
https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/309762 According to the Israeli health ministry, the last wave of infections is showing that natural immunity might be better at preventing infections than immunity from the vaccine. 72 of the more than 7,700 infections were from people who had previous infections while more than 3,000 were fully vaccinated. It doesn't say anything about people who were had the vaccine after already being infected
