Nothing I said is factually wrong, no need for the jab. Being overweight and also not exercising does put you at much higher risk of hospitalization.

I feel the only people who kind of get randomly butthurt over this are overweight people.

It’s literally science. Exercise, don’t be overweight, and your immune system functions at a way way higher level. Not really disputable and I don’t get why people take offense to it.

It’s because you’re generalizing. Not everyone overweight is unhealthy, not every thin person is healthy either. Just saying to exercise and not be overweight is oversimplifying things a lot.

By simplifying the way you are, you’re hurting people, even if it’s not your intention. If not being overweight was as simple as a little exercise, don’t you think there would be a lot less overweight people? Telling people it’s just exercise discourages them because it’s more than that. I’m a good example of that. I’m 5’9”. All of the charts say I should weigh 160lbs or less. I weighed 235, and was trying to get to the 200lbs that my doctor said I was supposed to be. My BP is always around 118/78, low cholesterol, all of the organs functioning properly. I went down to 1,200-1,400 calories of protein and veggies. My job was walking, lifting boxes, climbing ladders, and standing all day. 2-3 times a week I was playing disc golf, which is a 3-5 mile hike with a 30lb bag on yo ur back, and when the bag isn’t on your back, you’re engaging your core muscles to throw. So I was eating very little, exercising, and the lowest I could get to was 215lbs. I got that in the first month, the next 4 month we’re trying to get below. Couldn’t eat less and be able to work. Couldn’t find more time for exercise because of work and family. So you saying to just exercise is going to make people upset because losing weight is a big mental struggle. Imagine that you were at the gym on the bench, and couldn’t get up a second rep, and someone looked like they were going to spot you, but instead came over and told you to get stronger while the bar is coming back down on you. Wouldn’t that upset you?

Now there are some people out there where a walk around the block every day would be incredibly helpful, and help lower risks, but it’s not that way for everybody.

Its official, I am a breakthrough case. Dont go to weddings lol. Really a blame it on being forced to usher at the church without a mask because the church didn't allow them. I shouldve made a stink but Im just a groomsman.

Why wouldn't they allow an individual to wear a mask? Odd. I've been to a couple church weddings in my little corner of the world in Wisconsin. One last year (only person there who wore a mask). One this year (vaccinated, didn't wear one) but saw a couple people wearing them.

I'm overweight and don't exercise enough. I got COVID, knocked it out in four days and it took a couple months to get my wind completely back. I was lucky. You're pretty much on point here with the broad strokes if people are being honest with themselves. This whole thing has been a wakeup call for a lot of us to get on track.

This establish thinks its 1964. When ushering they were beyond adamant that we only escort women to their seats and that the men would follow. I asked if there was a party with  no women in it what we should do and was told that there wouldn't be because that would be improper. I pushed the issue and was told to ignore those guests and help the next woman. It was, well, baffling.

That co-worker I told you guys about (the FIRST one not the second one) is STILL in the ICU. Just in his late 20's. No health issues except probably a good 30-35lbs overweight but not obese. Also sat on his rear end and did nothing but video games in his spare time. He's been in the ICU a good month now at least.

Remember guys, being in-shape, and also exercising/eating healthy is a big part of a healthy immune system and health overall. If you've never been a big exercise guy, never too late!

Unfortunately lockdowns have been terrible for people gaining weight, particularly children. It's a disaster because being overweight/obese and metabolically unhealthy is pretty much the number one risk factor for complications with the disease.

Its a very difficult subject to talk about though, there's a lot of blame and stigma attached to being overweight. The last 30 years have also made it pretty clear that telling people to eat less and move more doesn't work as an effective strategy for weight loss.

Hung out with a friend last Saturday. She's fully vaxxed. She tested positive for COVID on Wed. I took a test 5 days after exposure, and tested negative. The wifey has had a cough. We thought for sure she caught it, but she also tested negative. She tested twice to be sure. I even shared a smoke with this friend. We literally exchanged saliva, and I still have tested negative. I'm going to test one more time tonight to be sure, which will be almost a week from exposure.

Also, her husband who is also vaccinated has test negative, too. We either got lucky, or the vaccines help prevent transmission.

Just note- I've had a booster since I'm a healthcare worker (though I took it a couple months ago, shhh). My wife is at 6 months from her second dose. Everyone else is around 5 months from their second dose.
