kingseanjohn
I never expected both to be released. Maybe it’s just a release and re-sign? RIP Mahomes if not.
Turnobili
They’re still 5 mil over the cap. Don’t see how they can bring either back. Unless they start restructuring mahomes every year though based on what we saw at the Super Bowl, without those tackles, they might literally have to restructure mahomes periodically Edited March 11, 2021 by Turnobili
.Buzz
Yeah, this is a poor move imo. Unless Schwartz is retiring, cutting basically your only two solid/good OL ain't it imo. We saw what happened when they were both out.
Blackstar12
Ok unless they both get contract restructured this is so confusing.

Broncofan
Clearly making room for Watson. With that OL, they'll need 2 elite QB's. Spoiler Before someone actual replies to this one, read the other threads on players getting cut. Broncofan
BTW - this example with Fisher should be the complete counter that shuts down the "players under contract shouldn't ever hold out" argument. KC has both guys under contract. Both were well worth their level of play. Schwartz's back issues, and now Fisher's Achilles injury (which basically takes him out of at least half, if not all of 2022) - makes it a "smart business move" for KC to cut the players. With Schwartz, if he's retiring, totally understandable, clear the $ before FA. But with Fisher, it's the org deciding to save money because they don't have to show loyalty to Fisher, even though it's just bad timing that Fisher got hurt now, and his contract isn't guaranteed. This example shows why if a player wants to hold out even under contract - that's their right, subject to penalties applied under the CBA. The teams certainly have shown they'll do whatever they want to not honor contracts, as the CBA allows. Fisher would never have been cut without the Achilles injury, yet KC showed zero loyalty to him...and again, under contract. It's an example of how ridiculously team-friendly the CBA is, and why any player who wants to exercise leverage available, no matter if they are under contract, no one should fault them. The orgs don't even hesitate when the shoe's on the other foot. Edited March 11, 2021 by Broncofan
