Btw, Matt Ryan just QB'ed a team which lost to the Dolphins. What are his excuses? Most QB's doesn't have the talent to elevate the entire offense to a degree as we'we seen with Manning, Brady, Brees and Rodgers

Ryan is coming off an MVP season.

If you take out his game against the Raiders, a defense that would make anyone look good, he's averaging 4.9 YPA.

He's not playing in the greatest circumstances but he's not exactly working with practice squad guys on offense, either. Most of his issues are his own. It starts with his footwork which, to my eyes, has clearly regressed over the last few years.

I think most Ravens fans would agree with you. Yet bizarrely, the Ravens haven't bothered to hire a QB coach with the express job of working on his lax technique and bad habits.

It's beyond me, that you can invest that much in a guy, and then do nothing when there are clear issues that need to be addressed. Never mind that they give him bad receivers, they don't even get him prepared correctly. And maybe it's on Joe as well, maybe he just can't be bothered to fix his bad habits, but if that's the case. The Ravens definitely need to move on as soon as they're able.

Joe certainly isn't the only problem with the offense (he'll, find me an aspect of it that isn't a problem), but he is a contributing factor that needs to be addressed.

Ryan did something incredible last season, and somehow he also has games like yesterday. Did he regress, or did everything else around him regress to a degree where he puts up 17 points on the Dolphins and lose?

My point is, that QB's are not these imaginary creatures that alone creates wins. They need talent around them and on the days where the talent doesn't play up to their level, good quarterbacks look bad (some worse than others).

Because Matt Ryan's worst season is on par with Flacco's best. He's been a much better QB consistently. This is the 3rd year in a row now with Flacco flailing.

He has not been a much better QB consistently. On the contrary, he was being talked about as a QB who choked and couldn't win in the playoffs.

For what its worth, being two very different quarterbacks, somehow Flacco managed to put together some records which Ryan can't match, while Ryan can show stats and other accolades which Flacco cannot.

There will always be a discussion about how much wins is a QB stat or not, but people who says Flacco only has the results he has is because of the elite talent around him, those people also have to recognize the talent around Flacco as being much better than it was/is to support their narrative.

This is true.. Much like Cam, Matt Ryan has only really had one amazing season.. The rest are on par with his career much like this year.. So it isn't a down year per say.

It's more of who he is compared to last year.. But regardless! Flacco is super trash.

He had a bad game. Flacco has bad seasons. Flacco has been ineffective since 2014. When you factor in his contract, he is the most worthless player in the league.

Matt Ryan had bad seasons too mate... There's a reason prior to last year people saw him as a middling QB who choked in the playoffs despite having an elite offense around him.

Flacco hasn't been his greatest since 2014, tore his ACL in 2015 so that's a wash. 2016 he was servicable and we were 1 game away from making the playoffs. 2017 is a story yet to be told and I don't see us making the playoffs or the offense getting better, but Joe will fix his sh**.

Matt Ryan's "bad" seasons would be considered Flacco's best lol
