tim boyle - maybe they bring him back on less than the tender

tyler ervin - cheap returner/satellite guy
mike boone - if he's on a near minimum deal i like him as a 3rd back, obviously probably just draft someone. has juice
tj yeldon - maybe on a minimum deal. exp with hack.
damien williams - STFA so wouldn't affect comps. if near minimum a good 3rd back. year off should be fresh

cordarrelle patterson - getting old but maybe we sign a legit returner

marcedes lewis - should be back assuming he still wants to play
kyle rudolph - STFA if we lose marcedes could use a good inline blocker, he's sufficient. probably will fetch more than we could budget
gerald everett - probably outta budget. but would be another guy can move around. maybe redundant with josiah.
trey burton - good blocker... move piece. not really needed, but whatever

alejandro villanueva - can't imagine they'd cut wagner and then sign a different aging tackle... but AV would be a slight upgrade prolly

trai turner - STFA we were in on thuney, why not trai
brett jones - apparently we're interested... i guess ok.
germain ifedi - has turned into a pretty decent guard. could be an option to come and compete with patrick and runyan for a starting role.

mike pennel - bring back some penneltration
snacks harrison - didn't use him when we had him... maybe bring back him tho

I'm not really surprised. Teams know more about in-division players better than teams outside the division.

In Jamaal Williams case he never established himself as a starter and didn't generate eye popping numbers to gain attention outside the division so it's no surprise his market wasn't robust. Only in-division teams would've really appreciated him.

With the most cap space signing for Detroit makes perfect sense and will be a good supplement to Swift.

If I had to choose between him and Jones I would choose Jones every single time. People get too hung up on the money aspect- I'd rather choose the better player.

@FinneasGage Nice write up. 👍

I fully expect us to re-sign Ervin. He's one of those cases where he's worth more to us than for other teams. His career was going nowhere until he landed with the Packers. The fit is good for him here and i'm sure he knows it.

I just can't ignore Golladay for some reason. As an in-division player we would be extremely familiar with him and Gute loves big WRs. He has been trying for a number of years to find a #2 WR. He tried trading for the likes of Robby Anderson, Will Fuller, Curtis Samuel and perhaps even Julio Jones. Despite the limited cap space I think the desire to upgrade at WR is still there. I can't completely count us out if the market is not as robust as he would've liked and in that situation WRs know if they want to hit pay day they will need a good QB throwing to them and that's where we come in.

I would love for us to get JuJu. Would make an outstanding compliment to Adams. He's TT type Packers receiver too and Rodgers always done well with those types.

Will Fuller could be affordable but does he have the desire to come to GB? He would've had no say had the trade happened but now in FA he does have a say in his next destination so the dynamics have changed. We'll see.

I think Dede Westbrook is a nice, cheaper alternative to Fuller. He's a speed guy with decent receiving stats.

Josh Reynolds makes some sense because he played in a similar offence in LA. He would be a big bodied receiver over the middle however I think we already got one in Funchess so I see little point in wasting money him. I would rather spend our money on a speed or dominant boundary receiver.

If we suddenly lose Tonyan because a team made an offer sheet we cannot match then Gerald Everett makes sense as an emergency replacement.

If we're looking to add some depth on the OL after losing Linsley, Wagner and possibly Taylor, there's not many options out there. Perhaps Ethan Pocic or Nick Martin. I don't believe in the Brett Jones rumors, he is not the profile of OL LaFleur likes. Rodney Hudson is probably out of our price range.

I expect us to revamp our DL a little. Because of Milt Hendrickson prior connection to Baltimore I expect Chris Wormley to be in the conversation. We will also be very familiar with Lawrence Guy who just turned 31 today, can't ignore him either. We might have a look at Quinton Jefferson and Larry Ogunjobi. I expect the Packers to continue looking at tall and long DL - there's no indication that will change and the guys I listed fit that profile.

I don't see us getting involved for linebackers. I think the team will feel just fine moving forward with Martin and Barnes. With so much nickel defence I don't see us stocking up on ILB. The real priority is the star position, we need to get that right.

I expect some activity at corner, especially if King leaves. I suspect we would like to keep him to retain our depth and to keep our compensatory picks. After that NFC championship performance I don't think his market is going to be that robust. Adoree Jackson is one I would be all over on. I liked him coming out of the draft and he would certainly add depth to our CB group. We didn't keep Kabion Ento around this long if we didn't like his potential. I think he will be back.

If we are looking for cheap. talented depth at safety then I would love for us to get Malik Hooker. That would give us so much systematic flexibility with Amos and Savage.

Ian Rapoport -    The 49ers re-signed Pro Bowl LT Trent Williams to a monster deal, holding off the Chiefs and Bears to do it. He gets 6 years and $138.06M.

Niners also got Alex Mack. Going to have another stout OL this year.

The more I looked into it the higher the likelihood I think we would be seriously interested in DL Chris Wormley at the right price.

Milt Hendrickson was on the Baltimore front office as the team's national scout and they thought highly enough of him to draft in the 3rd round.

Another factor to consider is that Gute loves his SPARQ guys and Wormley absolutely fits the bill. Not only that he is also tall and long (6'5" tall, 34" arms and 10" hands), and most importantly he's only 27 years old.

We need depth on the DL and if we're going to dip in FA for a cheap DL then he's the most obvious one on the list. He ticks alot of boxes.

The stars seems to be aligning there perhaps?

Packers kicking around that center market.

You can't see it in the tweet but FYI he's talking about David Andrews. I don't think we will get him though. I reckon it's more likely we would target Ethan Pocic. He has played all along the OL but has settled at center. I don't know why but I feel we have been linked to him before, perhaps in a potential trade.

how did nelson agholor get the best deal of any receiver in this FA crop lmao

I have no idea. He's inconsistent as hell and has crocodile hands.

John Brown is a much better receiver but he's also inconsistent as hell because of injuries.

I think my top WRs are Golladay, JuJu, Samuel, Fuller and to a much smaller extent Dede Westbrook. None of them have been signed yet so that's good news for us at least.

Albert Breer implied that Golladay is unlikely to be a Giant because of the Patriots connection.

This suggests that teams like New England, NY Giants, Miami, Houston, Titans are not contenders for his signature.

Apparently the rumor goes:
Kenny hated playing for a Patriots coach so much he held himself out with an injury even when he was healthy enough to return rather than risk getting hurt again heading in to free agency. That explains why the team never put him on IR despite him literally being out for over half the season.

If it's even remotely true then perhaps he might have to settle for a 1 year deal to rehab his value and prove he is a good teammate and that he's over his injury problems.

Now I'm starting to wonder if he would even seriously consider joining the Packers as a big F U to the Lions?

Always been a Golladay fan.  If does this, for that reason, I will forever be a fan.  Maybe even buy his jersey.
