1010 has a reporter from LA on. Says Jenkins can play both but has looked better at FS (which makes sense based on his coverage numbers).

Yup. He played SS this past year because Derwin missed the year, but started at FS the year prior. They’d also often use him as the rangy guy when they pulled up 3 Safety looks.

He isn’t horrible as a SS, but you really maximize his value if you have him playing coverage.

He can still be a ss and cover deep.

Yep.

In the off-season prior to 2019 the plan was to play him alongside Derwin at FS and be their long term duo. Has had to move around due to the injuries.

Best off to let him do his thing at FS imo.

Finally listened to Urban’s presser from yesterday. He mentioned at the end that Louis Murphy (who played for Urban at Florida) helped with giving insight on Jenkins (and Griffin).

That’s not terrible.

Looks like this regime might be trying more incentive based contracts than Dave did.

Yeah, this seems alright.  Seems like a useful, versatile player with some experience.  If you're not gonna have a gamebreaker back there, at least make sure you've got a reasonably reliable guy.  Which it seems like he should be.

And the contract seems built in a logical, easy to manage way.  Not entirely tied to him forever, and agreeing to some of that certainly makes him sound hungry as a player.
