Was Bill aware this could be a possibility and got Mills?

The Mills signing makes a lot more sense now, I was thinking the same thing.

He restructured last year for something like a 4 year deal.. so i'm not sure how that will change the cap with him retiring

It didn't make sense last year either based on his play and age alone. Then you factor in the draft and depth in 2020. Idk what that move was about. Mills seems like an insurance option for Devin McCourty more so than Chung but it is a hasty one that could have been thought out much better than this. Mills is another highly questionable move, and at $6 mill per it is bad.

3xSB champ, 1 other appearance. Pats all decade team. Likely ring of honour candidate, but doesn’t have that signature play, or those clutch moments which really made the other Pats dynasty defensive players.

Average is as average gets.

he was decent but I think he got overrated a good bit by Pats fans. At times felt like he was seen as some irreplaceable player
