I just feel like Darkseid isnt the villain you start off with.    I mean....he wasnt....but I just feel like there are so many other enemies they couldve used and saved Darkseid and his team for the "Infinity Wars/Endgame" of the DCEU.

I hate how people say (not you) "the DCEU doesnt have to copy what Marvel did"....but its not "copying" to do something the way it should be done.

People act like Marvel did something unique or original, when they didnt.    They simply did everything WELL.   They were true to the source material, they built the characters up right, the progressed the story naturally throughout each movie and came to a satisfying climax.

Imagine if the MCU had been built like the DCEU...

1. Iron Man (Man of Steel)
2. Captain America: Civil War (BvS)
3. Guardians of the Galaxy (Suicide Squad)
4.  Thor (Wonder Woman)
5. Avengers (Justice League)
6.  Aquaman (Hulk)
7.  Shazam (Captain Marvel)
8.  Thor Ragnarok (WW84)

Now, the MCU still wouldve been better if only because they made better movies, but it the MCU would still be a mess and many wouldnt know what the hell was going on.

I don't disagree. Where we differ is I don't see DC following that infinity route. Darkseid isn't the 'first villains. He's THE villain. The entire Justice Trilogy was devoted to him. There is no Ultron here.

Which is still the issue. Marvel built towards thanos  and invested the time and the movies grossed billions of dollars.  DC wanted to just jump right into darkseid with no investment and expect to do the same as marvel.

Halfway through and I mostly agree with the sentiment in this thread. Better...but not good.

-The alternate CGI on Steppenwolf is ok. But why not just go closer to the comic images of him? You got pretty close with Darkseid, why not just give Steppenwolf  a more human look like his comic depictions? Why go all out with the shiny morphing armor? He looks so badass in the comics with his goatee and helmet.
-Not really a fan of Flash in general so kind of disappointed there is so much emphasis on him.
- the 4/3 aspect bugs me and I have no idea why Snyder decided to film the entire move in that aspect. Saw something about it looking amazing in IMAX and he decided to just film the whole project as so. But for me...meh
-I hated the underwater scenes in Aquaman and I equally hate them in JL. Just feels so wonky and odd.
- The backstory on Cyborg is welcome and interesting. Like how Snyder decided to further explore the dynamic between him and his father. Helps me understand the character and his reluctance to accept his "gifts"

Part of the reason Snyder went with that ratio is due to the feats superheroes usually perform like soaring upward, jumping upward, or someone tall like Steppenwolf swinging his axe downward. I can understand the logic since you see that in comic panels sometimes. I'm not a fan of the ratio, but I can see why Snyder wanted to go with it for this film.

I still really dont like the Flash in the Snyder cut.

Two parts that stand out...

1) The scene where he saves Iris is so cringey.   First off, its comically silly they had to make a truck driver so stupid that he is trying to root around the floor of a dirty truck for a half eaten hamburger on a busy city street, and then after the wreck he is just like "derp....wut happened?"   Secondly, the absurdity of the music and 2 full minutes of slo mo while he thirsts over her in the middle of a potentially deadly accident is over the top.

2)   His initial exchanges with Bruce and Diana.     I get making a character socially awkward to a point, but these were Urkel levels of annoying.    It seemed more geared towards being comedic than a serious attempt at developing his character, but the problems are a)   it doesnt really fit the tone b)  the material isnt funny at all, regardless of tone and c)  Ezra Miller isnt funny and most of his attempts at comedy just end up being annoying.

He is much more tolerable in the Snyder cut, and I still didnt really like him.

He had the best moment of the whole film.

Didn't like the part where he acted essentially as an air traffic controller escorting people up the stairs. Really? Go back and help Diana fight Steppenwolf.

The Flash is lame. I feel like he’s the DC’s much crappier version of Spiderman.

Nah thats Hal Jordan. Flash is more consistently betrayed as this dude desperately trying to make everything right with a sense of guilt that is incorrigible.

The Flash could be one of the best live action heroes if he was portrayed correctly. DC rushed into the Justice League movie, they should've done origin movies for all of the heroes before they did a multi-hero movie.

Flash can be a great character if done right.

To me, Erza Miller just isn't it. I wished they had recasted this role when the Flash movie was up in the air...
