Ezekiel Elliot remains suspended

As of this moment nothing has changed.

His new york hearing is scheduled for 2:15pm eastern time today.

That hearing will be for a temporary restraining order. If it's granted, he should be good to go this week and it bodes very well for him eventually acquiring a preliminary injunction which will let him play out the season.

If the TRO isn't granted, he's almost certainly toast as it would be INCREDIBLY unlikely to get an injunction after being denied a TRO. His only prayer would be to get the en banc appeal in Texas, which they only grant like 3% of the time (totally discretionary). Basically gotta hope the panel is full of Cowboys homers

So, we get to go through this again in a couple weeks.

Yep. But the grounds for a TRO are essentially identical to that of an injunction. Only kicker is that it will be a different judge.

Still, I've been saying for the past week that it's unlikely he'll miss time. The irreparable harm is clear and this case is different enough from Brady to convince the court that he has a case.

So Zeke can play for a couple weeks until the Judge is back from vacation, and then suspension is back on again?????

no, even if the judge wasn't on vacation, it would be the same thing. a temporary restraining order only lasts for up to 14 days, after which point they will fight for the preliminary injunction, which would last for the duration of the case.

that hearing will determine his fate (for this season). the fact that it's a different judge only has significance because typically, the grounds for a TRO and preliminary injunction are damn near identical, so you would usually naturally assume that if you get the first, you will almost certainly get the second. now the question is if the vacationing judge will see it the same way as the temp judge.

my money says yeah, but you never know... the judge has some discretion, although imo the law favors zeke in regards to getting the injunction
