1st pick I really just don’t like at all. Mainly Bc I don’t think we need that position this high in the draft. We could be getting RB, WR and even OL help in this area. Instead of a rotational LB/S

At first I thought so as well. I was hoping for Cox at LB maybe Werner but they were gone. There have not been any RBs selected yet and we have 29 picks before we select again. Chances are one of Sermon, Gainwell, Patterson, Carter, Stephenson will be there. Outside of Trey Smith and I think Meyers, no OG’s have gone either. We may have options there as well. Wr seems to have slowed down so there may be a few picks avaialable.

The point is we felt HN would fill a Honey Badger type role when we are in nickel. I did a little research on him and he is the type of player that Ulbrich would love to have and could possibly be the steal of the draft when talking about him in a few years.  He would not last to pick 108.

I thought about it. It is a nice package for Mekhi. But in the end, we would weaken our OL at one of the most important positions and we would be left with a subpar LT for 2021. Not good for a rookie QB. If this trade was presented before we made our pick at 34, it would have been more feasible to grab a LT as Cosmic and Leatherwood were still available. For the record, I am not a Leatherwood fan.

I agree. It’s a fair trade on paper. But from a team building perspective (especially with a rookie QB coming) Becton is nearly untouchable. We’d be weakening a weakness. And OL is just too critical to continue being at the bottom of the NFL.

Another thing we had to take into account is all of our Linebackers and Safeties besides Ashtyn Davis are on 1 year deals essentially. That's what created the initial interest in Linebackers. Then we had to get creative when they all went.

I hear ya. I just think that with Mosley and Davis... that Lb isn’t a big need.

Where did Cox go in the draft? One of my favorite players in this draft for our team.

Edit: Just saw he went right after we picked Tremble.

Could use a third one for this year (see the Keanu Neal semi-pursuit) and it might be a huge need in a year. Depth there is needed now and it’s not like you would normally count on getting an instant starter in the mid-late third round.

LB isn't need?      We don't know if Davis can play NFL for real.  That leaves Mosley as only proven LB on the roster but he hasn't played on the field for almost 2 years.

I was hoping for one particular LB in late round but as far as WLB goes, Hamsah is right pick there.

Yeah but we won't draft LB there as Tremble was reserved for that pick.  Go ahead and swear at KONY.😉

lol.. I can't imagine that after JD all talked about how important was OL, we would trade Becton away.  Not happen.
