This is a big addition. Not just because we really needed a safety, but the added flexibility we now have entering the draft.

And I don’t think we can underrate the value of his (and Neal’s) familiarity with the new defense. Should help with the problem of dudes never knowing wtf they are supposed to do.

I really wanted Hooker, but it’s looking like that guy’s on the verge of washing out of the league. A shame- he really did seem like the next great FS coming out of college.

Obviously the scheme familiarly is a welcome change here, but I really appreciate the attention being given to the safety position in general. Could very well cap it off on Day 2 of the draft next month.

I’m very happy with the signing, fills a huge need. We just need him to be healthy and it’s a massive upgrade over Woods. Now I’d still like us to sign a veteran CB before the draft. That way we can truly pick BPA when we’re on the clock

edit: anyone got the numbers on the contract?

So. 3 signings, 3 DBs.

Are we STILL going DB in 1st round???

At this point I would think D line or O line would be the best bet.

How many DBs are you going to suite up on Sundays?

This is looking like a compete and win now team, hence Daks contract.

If you just signed 3 Safteys, and you are going to draft another in the 1st round, he needs to come in and start or contribute in a big way this year.

And with Crawford retiring, and rumors of not bringing Aldon Smith back, our D line just went from really bad to non existent.

So you could have the Flash, Deion Sanders and Jesus Christ in your secondary, they will still get torched because we cannot generate pressure or stop the run.
