Shoot your shot. couldnt agree more, SF was a very real SB threat, they did the smart thing and went for it. And better yet, the core pieceseices of the team are mostly young, so it isnt 2021 or bust.
Emerica
We also only have to players above the age of 28 on the roster. This is going to be an exciting young group for years to come

Lance is basically a guarantee but whoever is left of Field and Wilson isn’t bad I'd be surprised if it's Lance just because we have never watched him throw live. We weren't at his pro day or anything and he didn't play this year and we certainly didn't attend games in 2019. That being said, there have been a lot of guys who have tied Lance to Shanny based on his play as the guy who would fit in the best.
SBLIII
Jon Ledyard on Twitter: "I do think Jimmy will stay this year, and they will bring up the rookie QB slowly. Remember, it has typically taken QBs awhile to adjust to Shanahan offense. See Matt Ryan year 1 to Matt Ryan year 2 under Shanny. And he was a vet." / Twitter

And I say that as someone who loves Pitts and has him as the #4 guy in this draft I think it's pretty clearly for a QB. You don't make a pre-draft deal with the sheer amount of draft capital that the Niners just invested for a non-QB. Which QB is the better question, although I'd put Fields as the heavy favorite.

thebestever6
Would Texans have gone qb with Watson's legal trouble?
BucsDraftGeek47
this trade is so dumb for the 9ners not the trade itself, just the timing THERES AN ENTIRE MONTH BEFORE THE DRAFT and you trade for 3? why not 2?? you give whoever else wants a QB an entire month to make a jump, have to believe they tried for 2 and got rebuffed do they not care if its Wilson/Lance/Fields , like not even a little bit? doesnt make sense just pull the trigger in 3 weeks or so when you have more of a feel for other teams are going to do Love Lynch, just dont like this move *as of right now i still see the Jets going Wilson , so i am assuming this is for Lance bc i dont think Fields will be that great just my measly opinion though also am QUITE annoyed since i just made my first mock draft in ages and now i have to go make adjustments lol literally posted the damn thing an hour ago smh Edited March 26, 2021 by BucsDraftGeek47

MOSteelers56
The Phins are going to build a young, cheap foundation to surround a rookie deal QB. They'll have a ton of money to bring in FA vets too. If it all breaks their way, look out in the next 3 seasons.

It's very clear that the 9ers have 3 quarterbacks in mind that they are good with, otherwise you don't make this move.

Because #2 is almost certainly not available for trade unless you're trading for an established QB. And given the uncertainty regarding Watson...
