VigilantZombie
Idk how I feel about this as an NFL fan. The deal itself is fine but Baltimore has not been great at their usage of WRs. Having said that, Watkins is talented so I could see this partnership working.
SkippyX
Watkins may also be the reason no one is all that interested in paying Sherman after he toasted him in the Super Bowl.

But, to be fair and to give the absolute most benefit of the doubt possible, we just hired two separate passing specialists, including Watkins' WR coach that he's already comfortable with (Keith Williams). So this likely won't be the same ole' story with the Ravens' passing game, and if it does end that way with the changes that they've made, there's gonna be a LOT of explaining to do in the organization. SkippyX
He's not on this team to put up 1200 yards and 9 TDs. If he stretches the field and makes a handful of big plays then it can push the Ravens from barely making the playoffs in a competitive AFC to that 12 or 13 win range.

Marquise Brown is the field stretcher. I don't think Watkins is the deep threat that Brown is. I think Watkins was signed the be the go to wide receiver. Andrews will probably still be the most trusted guy. I honestly think the Ravens should build what works best and get another stud tight end, run a lot of 2 or 3 tight end sets, run a lot, pass to tight ends for big plays. They may get stifled at times. We've seen it happen in the playoffs but I wouldn't let that change my identity, it's still the best way to be effective on offense and it still scares everyone. But as a fan of an opposing team, go ahead and try to prove you can pass to wide receivers on the outside and win regularly.
Kirill
This is a good signing if they draft a WR in the 1st round that Watkins can give some advanced WR pointers to. Otherwise they still need more at the WR position.
August4th
just looked up his stats ..man didn't realize how much of a disappointment his career has been. He's putting up number 3 WR numbers throughout his career except for his 1st two years.

I forgot how big Watkins was on that young 2017 Rams team (8 TDs compared to 10 total for Kupp and Woods) No doubt Cooks was an upgrade at 1204 yards (Watkins had 583 in 2017) and 5 You can be a disappointment for 4 of 7 years as long as you also do this:

Yea, he's probably got quite a ways to go to catch up to Hollywood Brown in our offense as a run blocker. Watkins is basically taking Willie Snead's spot on the team. We actually gave Snead 1 year with $6M guaranteed last offseason so Watkins is actually a cheaper replacement. IDK why everyone seems to want to argue with no one that he's not a reliable, superstar #1 WR. Yes. It is known. 1 year at $5-6M, given what the Ravens currently have on their roster, is a good signing, even if he's only a complimentary piece or plays half or less the season. The season is 17 games (with the hope of closer to 20 for the Ravens). Good chance Watkins is worth the money/roster spot.

Frustrating player, but between him and Demarcus Robinson we had great blocking downfield.

If the Ravens can add a WR that compliments Watkins and Hollywood Brown, the receiver group could look pretty good. Bateman and Terrrance Marshall come to mind.
