Who do you want at 10? Option #1

We will be using only our 18 first round grades. 

Here it is simple, we are ranking the options as to what we should do at 10.

My number 1 target at 10 would be Pitts.

I'm going to assume that Trevor Lawrence isn't available. If either Sewell or Pitts are there, I'd draft one of them.

Tier 1 - Pitts, Sewell, Chase   
Tier 2 - Surtain, Waddle   
Tier 3 - Horn, Slater

It would take a big bounty for me to trade away from players in the first two tiers. I would trade away from Tier 3 for something fair on the trade value chart.

If we pick any other player at #10, I will be very disappointed.

Say Lawrence is available - would it not be an obvious trade situation?

Probably not. If he’s available at #10, it’s because something severe happened, and no one wants to touch him with a 10 foot pole.

Agree with this w/ a couple of changes and additions. Slater is Tier 1. Horn is Tier 2. I’d add JOK and Moehrig (still a big fan) to Tier 3.

I actually would be happy with JOK, I just don’t see it as plausible.

I can see Horn in Tier 2. Slater is not moving up for me, though. He is the worst “still good” scenario in my book.

Moehrig falls in a tier 4 for me of guys I’d be happy to target as our first pick in a trade down, along with JOK and Greg Newsome.

I'll be reasonably okay with: Horn or Waddle

Assuming no Lawrence, in order I would want:

Pitts, Sewell, Chase, Surtain, Horn, Slater

I went Surtain. I had to strongly pull away from my dream in drafting Waddle.  Waddle would make us team 50 burger but, Surtain will be a much needed asset.

I picked Surtain because I think he will be available and will fill a tremendous need. I think Pitts, Sewell, and Slater will be gone.  If we pick Paye as I saw predicted in a recent mock draft I will be somewhat disillusioned to put it mildly.

This reasoning makes sense. I’m glad that is the motive behind people picking Surtain, rather than him truly being the #1 dream pick.
