Locks - unless traded or released for cap reasons, they're a lock if the season starts tomorrow based on their status (draft position, recent contract, known status, ect.)

Probable - likely to make the 53-man roster if the season started tomorrow but clearly upgradable.

Fringe/PS - unlikely to make the 53-man roster

This is just for my notes, and to look at where we are likely to go in the draft, and not meant to debate about whatever tier a player is in. The number of LB's and WRs in their contract year leads me to believe we may be taking 2 by the end of R3. The number of "locks" under contract beyond 2021 on the DL leads me to believe we won't be heavily investing there soon.

Always wonder which UDFA rookie will earn a roster spot. Love to see the underdogs have their day.

IMO you might as well make WR Preston Williams a lock.  With a salary of $850k and a signing bonus of $3, 334 ( not a typo ) he is perhaps the best value on the team given his production....... Injury or not.  The only way he gets cut is if he doesn't want to be a Dolphin anymore.  Same with Needham.

Preston Williams has played in 16 games over 2 seasons, averaged 14.3 ypc, 50 rec for 716 yds, and scored 7TD's.

I agree, unless there is some non football related issue Williams is going to be on the final roster.
