Under a different name as years previous... this used to be ML's Yearly Mock Draft. But of course I changed my username. But lets get into some football. This is probably the hardest mock Ive put together. There is so much uncertainty about who the Bills are interested in this year with no combine and in person meetings but ill give this my best shot.

Round 1- Najee Harris RB Alabama: This is the only round I could see the Bills potentially selecting a RB. With Breida, Singletary, and Moss already on the team I don't see us drafting a RB unless its a clear upgrade.  Drafting a RB in the later would just give us what we already have with Singletary/Moss. Harris instantly upgrades our offense into elite. It was clear in the playoffs that our running game showed just how one dimensional we were. Made it easy for the Ravens and the Chiefs to really limit our offense. Harris is an extremely well rounded back. He is explosive and athletic. Just watch the play against ND were he hurdled a defender and landed on both feet and kept going. He can run for power at 230lbs. He has improved as a receiver every year at Alabama. There is really nothing he can't do. Sitting at pick #30 we are in prime position to select an elite NFL RB. I know the old saying RBs are a dime a dozen. But elites ones are not... looking around the league there are not many great RBs. Najee will instantly take out top 5 offense and move it into a top 2 offense. There would not be a more balanced rushing/passing attack in the league.

Round 2-  Eric Stokes CB GeorgiaCB seems to be the one position we seem to be most interested in. There are many good CBs in the 1st and 2nd rounds to choose from. For that reason I have us waiting until round 2 to address the position. I think someone will fall into our laps. It always happens when there is a strength at a certain position. Stokes is just the guy we need here in Buffalo. In order to compete with the Chiefs we need a guy who can keep up with Tyreek Hill and Stokes is just the guy to do that. Stokes is 6'0 and has sub 4.3 speed. He ran a 4.28 at his pro day. But this guy is more than just speed. He had 4 INTS last years and returned 2 of them for TDs. He has had a blocked punt for a TD in his career. The guy makes plays... he does have some work to do with his ball skills which is what stops him from being a 1st round pick but he will have a ton of potential across from Tredavious White. Just Let McDermott work with him and he will be a fine football player for us for a long time. And there is not much pressure for him to contribute in year 1 with Levi Wallace in fold. For 2021 I envision Stokes playing against faster receivers and Levi playing against the bigger more physical wideouts.

Round 3- Tommy Tremble ND TE: This seems to be the type of TE that the Bills have targeted in the past. Raw with a ton of potential. This is a Dawson Knox type prospect so don't expect much in year 1. However he will be very important to us with his blocking. Tremble is the best blocking TE in the draft and with Lee Smith gone we will be looking for someone to fill his void. He will come in instantly and be an elite blocking TE immediately. He is also extremely athletic and has a ton of potential as a pass catcher down the road. With Hollister and Knox on board Tremble could take his time to really grow before getting consistent minutes. We were interested in Gronkowski and Greg Olson this offseason so its clear we are trying to upgrade this position so Tremble may be the guy we turn to. We had a meeting with him already and are shown to be interested in him.

Round 5- James Wiggins S Cincinnati: Dean Marlowe just signed with the Lions. Jaquon Johnson is waiting in the wings to be the first replacement for Marlowe however it would be good to add another safety to the roster. Adds competition for Johnson and we seem thin at this position currently. Poyer and Hyde are right at 30 and exiting the prime of their careers so it would be nice to add some youth to the position. We have met with Wiggins... he is extremely athletic. And will be a nice piece for McDermott to groom.

Round 5- Malcolm Koonce Edge Buffalo: Don't have far to travel to find this guy. Right in our own back yard. He had a very impressive 2019. I would have liked to address DE sooner in the draft. However there are just so many draft selections. I could have seen us using our first round selections to select one of the DE from Miami but I think Ravens will take one off the board and Harris would be to good to pass up. Hughes and Addison are both aging. We have Epenesa in the wings. Also we just signed Efe Obada who is ascending rapidly with very little experience. With that signing it made edge rusher a less pressing need so unless we can get ourselves a top guy in round 1 I don't think a player in  round 2 or 3 would be much of an upgrade. And seems Bills are thinking the same way as we haven't met with any edge rushers... atleast none have been reported.

Round 6- Ihmir Smith Marsette WR/KR Iowa: Besides CB the position we have seemed most interested in meeting is at KR/WR. Keep in mind these meetings happened before Isaiah Mckenzie resigned. However  McKenzie signed a one year deal and is not guranteed a future roster spot. With Andre Roberts moving on it would definitely be smart to spend a day 3 selection on a returner. Marsette has 2 KR for TDs in his college career.  Ihmir is a solid receiver as well and could get some minutes in the slot if the need arises.

Round 7-  Jordan Scott DT Oregon: Mcdermott likes to have lots of rotation out of his defensive linemen. Star Lotulelei is expected back but with his age and a whole year off who knows just how effective he will be. Zimmer was a huge surprise for us but Philips has been a huge disappointment. We use our last selection on a late flyer DT. Someone who can fill more of that NT position role.

I am good with the 1st two picks. I am not sure if Tremble would make this team better and would like to see us add another pass rusher, DT, or LB/S Hybrid over TE at that point in the draft. I am comfortable with the depth they have at the TE position this year but not to thrilled about the unknown of a true #1 TE.
