That's irrelevant to him being better than Dame, Embiid, and Davis though. He can not be a good enough #1 to win a ring and still be better than them.

He can also be the 11th best player

He's not though. We'll keep it simple, there is really no argument for Dame to be above him. Harden is a better offensive player, a much better defensive player, has better postseason numbers, and more postseason success. We can get into Embiid and Davis if you want but the Harden/Dame one is about as clear as it gets.

Does 2 leg Harden have a better track record in the playoffs? Both versions are losers.

Did Khris Middleton or Devin Booker have great track records in the playoffs? And are we going to totally ignore the fact that the Rockets were up 3-2 against the Warriors before CP3 got hurt?

Harden was the MVP on a team with the best record in the league and a game away from beating the Warriors with Durant before CP3 went choker mode, lol.

Look at their postseason numbers. Both were amazing in round 1 this year, and than Harden was hurt in round 2. Here are the past years. The only one you could maybe give Lillard is 2014. None of the others are even close.

2020

Harden: 29.6-5.6-7.7 63.6% TS

Lillard: 24.3-3.5-4.3 61.8% TS

2019

Harden: 31.6-6.9-6.6 56.7% TS

Lillard: 26.9-4.8-6.6 56.6% TS

2018

Harden: 28.6-5.2-6.8 54.8 TS%

Lillard: 18.5-4.5-4.8 47.1 % TS

2017

Harden: 28.5-5.5-8.5 58.3% TS

Lillard: 27.8-4.5-3.3 55.0% TS

2016

Harden: 26.6-5.2-7.6 55.5% TS

Lillard: 26.5-4.3-6.3 52.7% TS

2015

Harden: 27.2-5.7-7.5 62.0% TS

Lillard: 21.6-4.0-4.6 49.1% TS

2014

Harden: 26.8-4.7-5.8 51.9% TS

Lillard: 22.9-5.1-6.5 57.8% TS

So he's not good enough to be the guy on an elite team.

Just like Harden?

Put Tom Brady or Pat Maholmes on the Texans or Jets, I bet they don't get out of the 1st round either.

Only Harden trashing thus far. There has yet to be a single argument made that Dame is better than Harden. Which isn't surprising because there isn't one.

What does that version of James Harden have to do with the soon to be 32 year old version? They aren't the same guy. Father time wacked James Harden in the knees over the past year. Dame is still at 100% peak performance. Harden is 75% of what he was just 2 years ago. It's the top going into the next season. Not top 10 over the last 3+ years. Harden has had a better career. Dame will be the better player going forward.

So peak Dame Lillard is good enough for the 6th seed and to get bounced by Campazzo in the 1st round?

Do you think Portland is good without Dame? I think Nets make the playoffs even if Harden sits the season out.

If you simply swapped Harden for Dame, do you think Portland makes it to the finals?
