Atlanta Falcons:
1.4 Kyle Pitts || TE || Florida
2.35 Eric Stokes || DB || Georgia
Explanation: I think the Falcons will actively try to move down, but I don't think any team is going to meet their demands. Dallas might be the only team crazy enough to do it, and for Pitts no less, but I think the FO handcuffs Jerruh to the radiator. Denver strikes me as a team willing to sit back and wait, see what happens, and take the best player. Washington and New England are both movers in my mock, but I can't see either willing to come all the way to #4. Stokes very nearly came off the board in the 1st for me. Great value at 35.

Arizona Cardinals:
1.16 Patrick Surtain || DB || Alabama
2.49 Rashod Bateman || WR || Minnesota
Explanation: Surtain is just a great fit for Arizona. I like Bateman in the 2nd, but I have a feeling someone may take him earlier. Losing a franchise stalwart in Peterson hurts less with the addition of a consistent, smooth player like Surtain. The addition of Green isn't enough to me to fix the WR room. I could easily see either of these picks being an edge rusher, but the value made sense.

Baltimore Ravens:
1.27 Azeez Ojulari || EDGE || Georgia
2.58 Jamar Johnson || DB || Indiana
Explanation: I initially wanted to go WR, but the more I looked at their roster, the more I felt edge rusher was their top need. Ojulari is undersized but I think the Ravens have a long history of making supremely talented defenders work regardless of circumstance. Johnson should be a nice upgrade on the back end.

Buffalo Bills:
1.21 Gregory Rousseau || EDGE || Miami
Explanation: When I look at Buffalo, I see a need for a consistent edge rusher. Someone to get after the QB in a conference with guys like Mahomes being the roadblock to a Superbowl trophy. Rousseau is lower on my personal board, but with few overall needs, I think the Bills can afford to jump Tennessee to secure an edge rusher.

Carolina Panthers:
1.15 Christian Darrisaw || OL || Virginia Tech
2.39 Asante Samuel Jr. || DB || Florida St.
2.46 Nick Bolton || LB || Missouri
Explanation: Moving back is big value here for Carolina with Sewell off the board. Cam Erving is not a starting LT. Samuel Jr. and Bolton fill long-term holes in Carolina's defense. The temptation to go DT was high, as this class is deep with penetrating DTs who can get after the QB, and that is likely where a 3rd round pick would go.

Chicago Bears:
1.20 Caleb Farley || DB || Virginia Tech
2.52 Alex Leatherwood || OL || Alabama
Explanation: I struggled here. I feel like the Bears are in a bit of a "dead zone" in this draft, particularly for their OL needs. Farley is a great replacement for Fuller, and Leatherwood can be tested on the outside. If he fails, kick him inside and you at least get quality guard play.

Cincinnati Bengals:
1.5 Ja'Marr Chase || WR || LSU
2.38 Dillon Radunz || OL || North Dakota St.
Explanation: I know protecting Burrow is paramount, but I think he'll beat the table through the floor for Chase. Radunz can play inside or sit for a year behind Reiff before taking over in '22-'23. I expect more OL picks down the boards, but Chase's value was just too good to pass up.

Cleveland Browns:
1.26 Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah || LB || Notre Dame
2.59 Alim McNeil || DL || N.C. St.
Explanation: When I look at the Browns LB corps, the word "meh" might as well be stamped on their collective foreheads. JOK should come in and be the best LB in the group almost immediately. McNeil should be able to step in early on and be the meat in the middle of a DL that has struggled at times. I think an edge rusher in the 3rd would round this class out nicely, now that Clowney is there to fill the void short-term.

Dallas Cowboys:
1.10 Kwity Paye || EDGE || Michigan
2.44 Levi Onwuzurike || DL || Washington
Explanation: Again, tough spot. I love Paye and think he's reasonably underrated by some. He forms a nice bookend to Lawrence giving them another high-end rusher. Onwuzurike is a player I absolutely love and strongly considered for several teams. Should be a nice addition to help collapse the pocket straight up the gut. DB can be addressed down the boards.

Denver Broncos:
1.9 Micah Parsons || LB || Penn St.
2.40 Joe Tryon || EDGE || Washington
Explanation: With the addition of Fuller, I think the most important thing for Denver is shoring up the middle of that defense. Parsons gives them a rangy, supremely talented MLB and Tryon can help bring pressure off the edge. I personally have Tryon lower on my boards, but it seems like teams view him higher than I do. Could easily see them trading down here, just not entirely sure with who.

Detroit Lions:
1.19 Alijah Vera-Tucker || OL || USC
2.41 Rondale Moore || WR || Purdue
2.51 Ifeatu Melifonwu || DB || Syracuse
Explanation: One of the draft winners so far in my opinion. Vera-Tucker can feasibly play LT, but if not, should be an All-Pro guard for a decade+. Extremely solid value at 19. Moore is not a traditional #1 but should be productive, and I think adding a bigger bodied receiver like Josh Palmer in the 3rd makes sense. Melifonwu steps in across from Okudah and helps shore up a secondary that's been in bad shape for a long time.

Green Bay Packers:
2.36 Christian Barmore || DL || Alabama
2.62 Creed Humphrey || OL || Oklahoma
Explanation: Moving back out of the 1st and securing a couple 3rds is a good deal when you still get a guy who can help you. Barmore should come in and shore up a defensive interior that really hasn't been good since Raji decided to not suck on the way to their Superbowl win. Humphrey could be considered a reach, particularly with Meinerz on the board, but I think that's interchangable here. If you prefer Meinerz, I won't argue with you.

Houston Texans:
Confused High Quality GIF

Indianapolis Colts:
1.30 Samuel Cosmi || OL || Texas
2.54 Tyson Campbell || DB || Georgia
2.61 Payton Turner || EDGE || Houston
Explanation: Moving back and still getting a terrific LT prospect is great for the Colts. With Darrisaw/Slater/Vera-Tucker/Sewell gone, it made sense. Let Buffalo come up and get their guy, and get great value. Campbell shores up a secondary that has struggled at times, and Turner brings in great edge rushing potential. Why does it feel like the Colts are always looking for an edge rusher? As DMX so eloquently said, "Here we go again..."

Jacksonville Jaguars:
1.1 Trevor Lawrence || QB || Clemson
1.25 Kadarius Toney || WR || Florida
2.33 Trevon Moehrig || DB || TCU
2.45 Travis Etienne || HB || Clemson
Explanation: I won't even comment on Lawrence. Toney slides in and helps flesh out a WR corps still in the works. Moehrig falling shows the value of that #33 selection. Etienne coming in to pair once again with Lawrence is a brilliant fit that should help his transition. I really, really enjoyed this draft for J-Ville. Everything just seemed to line up.

Kansas City Chiefs:
1.31 Walker Little || OL || Stanford
2.63 Elijah Molden || DB || Washington
Explanation: Another team I struggled with. We all know the OL is an issue, and while I have a late 1st-early 2nd grade on Little, I still feel like it's a reach. He's a terrific prospect, but not playing in two years is terrifying. He did look fantastic at his Pro Day, however. Molden was a traditional, strict BPA selection. I just couldn't figure out where to go for KC here, so took the best player left on my board.

Las Vegas Raiders:
1.17 Jayson Oweh || EDGE || Penn St.
2.48 Zaven Collins || LB || Tulsa
Explanation: I know the OL needs help. I know. I hear you. Calm down. Stop throwing things. Good lord act like an adult. I think Oweh is the H/W/S guy that makes Mayock and Gruden stain their undies. I 100% think this pick could happen, even though fans probably won't like it. Collins sliding gives them a presence at linebacker for their defense they haven't really had in ages.

Los Angeles Chargers:
1.13 Rashawn Slater || OL || Northwestern
2.47 Aaron Robinson || DB || UCF
Explanation: Boy, the Chargers oline sucks. Like, really sucks. Bad sucks. Slater comes in and is probably the best player on the unit day one. The value here is crazy. Slater could easily go top-10. If he fails at LT, you kick him inside and have an immediate All-Pro guard. Robinson steps in where Verrett never quite lived up to expectations.

Los Angeles Rams:
2.57 Jabril Cox || LB || LSU
Explaination: PLEASE STOP THROWING THINGS. I really, really, *really* wanted to go OL for the Rams here. The value just wasn't there at all. Maybe they trade their entire 2023 draft (or what's left of it) to move into the 1st. This pick was hard, the Rams are insane and I had no idea what to do with them.

Miami Dolphins:
1.6 Penei Sewell || OL || Oregon
1.18 Jaylen Waddle || WR || Alabama
1.29 Najee Harris || HB || Alabama
2.50 Joseph Ossai || EDGE || Texas
Explanation: What a coup for Miami. More wheeling and dealing nets them the best LT prospect in the class to shore up an oline that needs immense work, a top-3 WR prospect at 18 who happened to fall, the best workhorse RB in the class who just happened to play with Tua at 'Bama, and an edge rusher to assist a defense that is already very, very good.

Minnesota Vikings:
1.14 Jaelan Phillips || EDGE || Miami
Explanation: A friend who is much more "plugged in" to the Vikings than I am argued with my OL pick I initially had. After he explained it, the logic made sense. The Vikings do need help up front protecting Cousins, but that can come later. If Phillips didn't have a history of concussions, he'd be the top edge rusher on the board. Getting him at 14 is crazy value if he stays healthy. It's a big risk, but one that could easily pay off.

New England Patriots:
1.8 Trey Lance || QB || North Dakota St.
Explanation: I feel like the hoodie has on a new cologne - "Desperation", by Brady, and it's not a great one. I think this might be the time he jumps to find his new QB, and I think Lance is the guy. He's got a lot of the elements of Cam that Bill and McDaniels like, with more overall polish as a passer.

New Orleans Saints:
1.28 Jamin Davis || LB || Kentucky
2.60 Tay Gowan || DB || UCF
Explanation: With Kwon Alexander's release, a hyper athletic LB in Jamin Davis should be a quality fit from day one to continue to build on a defense that created a lot of havoc in 2020. Gowan was a waffle pick for me. I struggled with where to go at #60, as the board was a bit odd. Could be a QB, with Mills, Mond and Trask still on the board.

New York Giants:
1.11 Jaycee Horn || DB || South Carolina
2.42 Carlos Basham Jr. || EDGE || Wake Forest
Explanation: Having experienced Gettleman in Carolina, I initially had Slater pegged here, or Paye when he was available, but the Giants draft spot is a weird one. I think an improvement to the secondary may end up being the road traveled, with a solid edge rush prospect in Basham fulfilling the role of "hog molly" in the 2nd. I know some folks think it's WR, but I think Gettleman will look at the Golladay signing and say "job done".

New York Jets:
1.2 Zach Wilson || QB || BYU
1.23 Greg Newsome || DB || Northwestern
2.2 Teven Jenkins || OL || Oklahoma St.
Explanation: Wilson is a duh. Newsome was a tough one. I would have liked to get NYJ an edge rusher in their top-3 picks, but the value just didn't really line up. Newsome should step in right away as one of the cleanest, smoothest corner prospects I have seen in ages. Jenkins falls down boards here because...I'm not sure. I actually think he goes in the 1st, just not sure where. I think his potential at LT is minimal, but he could be a stalwart on the right side for a long, long time.

Philadelphia Eagles:
1.12 DaVonta Smith || WR || Alabama
2.37 Pat Frieriemuth || TE || Penn St.
Explanation: If they're committed to Hurts (still not buying it long-term), you have to surround him with weapons. Smith is an incredible WR prospect who can create big plays and big scores in a split second. Frieriemuth comes in to give Hurts a big bodied safety valve to dump it off to with the likely trade/release of Ertz.

Pittsburgh Steelers:
1.24 Liam Eichenberg || OL || Notre Dame
2.55 Landon Dickerson || OL || Alabama
Explanation: The Steelers oline is a mess. I think there's a possibility they bring back Villanueva, but they still need pieces. Dickerson should step in quickly somewhere along the interior. If Villanueva returns, Eichenberg can play immediately at RT. If not, test him out at LT and see how he performs. Riding one more year with Ben means they have to protect him or the entire thing was a moot point.

San Francisco 49ers:
1.3 Mac Jones || QB || Alabama
2.43 Jevon Holland || DB || Oregon
Explanation: I know people will hate the Jones pick, but I genuinely think it's what's going to happen. His entire career as a coach and the QBs he's preferred tells the story.

Seattle Seahawks:
2.56 Jackson Carman || OL || Clemson
Explanation: Can Russ have an offensive line? Please? Like...please?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
1.32 Terrace Marshall Jr. || WR || LSU
2.64 Milton Williams || DL || Louisiana Tech
Explanation: I considered Barmore at #32, but I felt Marshall Jr. was too much value to pass up for a team riding with Brady for another year or two. Williams tested off the charts at his pro day, and for me has jumped highly. Strongly considered taking him for Carolina in the 40's. Terrific athleticism. Hard to pass on that.

Tennessee Titans:
1.22 Elijah Moore || WR || Ole Miss
2.53 Ronnie Perkins || EDGE || Oklahoma
Explanation: Another weapon for Tanny and an edge rusher to replace the departing Clowney. I am crazy high on Perkins and think he can be a highly productive edge in the right system. Moore has leapt up boards and I think he'll be a nice fit in Tennessee's offense to replace the departing Corey Brown. Still lots of value at DB if they want to go that way down the boards.

Washington Naughtynames:
1.7 Justin Fields || QB || Ohio St.
Explaination: It's the QB of the future. This isn't even a discussion to me. You go get your guy. If Rivera loves him, and I think he does, the cost is reasonable.

Good Bengals draft if they are that high on Radunz.  They typically stick to players from the Power 5

Yeah, I think Leatherwood is likely higher on their board, but we could be wrong.  Right idea though, so I won't quibble on the exact guy because every year it seems there is a different order than we expect, especially once you get past the first 2-3 guys at a position.

I think we're more likely to see one of the Edges or a CB if the board falls like it does here. Unless Morris changes the pattern for the Rams they just don't seem to put much emphasis on an ILB. The guy who was slated to start there last year is an former UDFA who missed last year to injury but is coming back and they seem to love him. We brought back Floyd be we don't have much opposite him though there were high hopes for Lewis last year in the 3rd but like in college he just can't seem to stay healthy.

At CB we lost Hill who took something like 95% of snaps and Williams hasn't signed his ERFA tender and not sure we get him more than for one year so that leaves us with very little other than Ramsey.

I'm taking Bateman 10/10 if he makes it to KC.     Fits the offense like a glove and it's a need.

Would rather have Bateman/T. Marshall   over Little.      Edge is another option, but don't really like anyone left at that spot.   Basham would be better than Little imo.

What a haul for the Dolphins! There's been talks of Waddle falling , but if he fell to 18😳

The only question with Najee is will he be as effective playing behind an incomplete OL? The assets they gave up for Najee seems a bit much too. Two 3rds to move up 9 spots? It leaves Miami in a hole since their next pick wouldn't be until the 5th round, 156 picks later.

Really like the trade back, and Barmore would likely be one of the targets here.  They could also opt for Dillon Radunz or a CB here instead.  Not sure they'll take a pure C that early.  The Packers have a history of using early Day 3 picks on the IOL and having good success.  I'd imagine they'll continue with that trend.

  • Little works if the team feels he's 100 today.
  • The other pressing need is DE, where they lost a starter and his backup.
  • Since they have an opt-out OT, Lucas Niang, you could go DE at #31 and OT with #63.
