I don't like that logic at all. The field changes every year and just because there's an abundance of talent at one position, doesn't make the middle of the pack guys mediocre. By that logic Amari Cooper, Sammy Watkins, TY Hilton, and Alshon Jeffrey are all mediocre WR's.

Even if you factor in that logic, Tyrod's 4-2 and ranks in the top 6 in the AFC in both passer rating and QBR. Maybe if he plays this productive all year and the bills get to 10-6 peoples opinions will change.

You're still not getting how averages work. If Taylor put up his same numbers 25 years ago, he'd be an elite player. Things have changed. The league is filled with many QB's who are better than Taylor. In a league which is rigged in favor of offense and makes things easy on the QB, the majority of teams have guys better than or equal to him. He's mediocre in today's NFL

 

As for the WR comparison - it's a terrible one for what should be obvious reasons
