Edit: (sources on Twitter: will try to tag when I get a minute) Great news! Would it be out of the question to keep six CBs: Haden, Pierre, Layne, Sutton, Shakur Brown, Tre Norwood? MOSteelers56
So I see it like we got some good value guys early, a couple reaches in the middle, a steal in the 6th, fun punter in the 7th, and a crew of good UDFAs. Not a bad haul. I think it’s going to be another good one.
Dcash4
Reading the tea leaves I’m making up in my mind: they like Layne and Pierre on the outside with Sutton on the inside in sub, but want to throw darts at the board with UDFA/signings in hope of striking gold. I would be sending a WYD? text to Casey Heyward, but still some good FA’s to be had at CB.

In this case I am assuming that Sutton starts outside in 2 CB sets and slides inside in nickel/Dime. I think theres a lot of mixtures they can do currently, but coverage wise, no one else projects inside on the roster other than Sutton. MOSteelers56
The defense is going to have to be different without Hilton. I don’t think we have a guy we can plug into that spot adequately. I’d imagine we change the scheme around a bit.

DR43
Is Loudermilk going to be a NT? At 6'6 I assume he'd be too tall and at 274 too light.

He is a 2-gap player with zero explosiveness. They want Aaron Smith when they do not play that defense anymore

For a 1 gap player your are looking for explosiveness to hit that gap and disrupt/penetrate. For a 2 gap player you are looking at long arms to hold off the oline and strong-as-a-ox not to get moved. Loudermilk is the later. But at 6'6 he is a 5 tech which means he is Aaron Smith type of player.
