He'll be the starting QB for the Packers only way he isn't is if Love beats him out. Agreed with getting a decent back up under Aaron as he has had his share of injuries. Also possibly grooming his successor. It wasn't cute it was smart. I don't get this whole story especially blowing up hours before the draft. Aaron doesn't seem the type to shy away from some competition. I am really questioning this whole story. Nothing I have ever heard and seen from Aaron Rodgers suggests that it is true. He might be a little miffed but believe the media is blowing this all out of porportion. We'll find out because if it is indeed true he won't be a Packer tomorrow. He been whining for a month just about when the Niners made the trade for #3. He knows once the Niners pick a QB at 3, his quest is over. Thus the breaking story today. Rodgers doesn't want out of GB he wants to go to SF. He knows this is his only opportunity to do that and after today, he has little control on where he goes. By refusing to restructure in an "off" year to maximize SB chances, Rodgers dug his own grave here IMO. His actions CLEARLY indicate he is not willing to go "all-in" himself. He is the sunk cost. Like get the third, and then make them cough up three firsts in 2025/2026/2027 when they suck. In NFL contract reality, Rodgers has one year left on his deal. He wanted a real extension, the Packers balked, then they came to their senses and realized they might have to give in to his demands once he asked out, and now they need to suck it up and go over the top to bring him back on board.
