Of Course MVS is all in year 4. It's a contract year and a big year means a big payday! Here or somewhere else. He puts up 1K he's getting overpaid!

Not by us at least 😉

Any of you guys ever consider he doesn't want to live and work in GB anymore?  He tried to force a trade on the day of the draft what does that tell you?

Rodgers gets a reworked deal and stays in GB?  Doubt it because he doesn't want to play here.  He's already turned down a new offer from the Packers.

If Love really shows something perhaps the Packers would have enough confidence to trade him before the season starts.  View this as unlikely but not impossible especially if Rodgers skips training camp.  Wish they would do this as it would maximize his trade value.

Another possibility is he just refuses to show up at all.  Breaches his contract and is dead set on not returning.  The Packers finally give up and end up trading him in Sept/Oct.  Based on what we are hearing I'd rate this as the second most likely scenario.   We'll probably get less in trade but oh well.

Most likely scenario is Rodgers shows up to training camp probably late.  He'll play his last year in GB he will be traded after the season is over.  If we take the Packers at their word they will hold firm and try to win it all with Rodgers one last time.  It will be his swan song.

I'll get back to he is newly engaged to a Hollywood actress.  His woman won't want to live in GB.  He wants to be close to his soon to be new wife.   Thus he wants to be traded to SF (he tried to force it on draft day) which is now off the table.  Or Denver where his fiancé is from.  Some chatter about Vegas being a possibility as well.  Connect the fricken dots.  It's not that hard.  Oh I'm sure he has has disagreements with personnel.  Nothing new.  He hasn't come out with exactly why he is upset.  Well what do you expect him to say.

You guys never want to look at the personal side of things.  Yes football is important to Aaron but so is his new fiance.  He wants to continue to play football but he also wants to be close to her get married and who knows maybe raise a family.  The dude is in love.  Love conquers all.  My feeling is it will be a compromise.  One more season in GB and he's out of here.  That is if Shailine agrees to it.

No

He doesn't want out of GB. He wants a new contract. His leverage is being a petulant child. If he was ADAMANT about being out, he would be saying this stuff himself or through his agent. This all being whispers means he's negotiating.

Him turning down a new offer doesn't mean he wants out. He wants to be fully guaranteed until 2025. There isn't a deadline until training camp. There's no reason for him to not keep negotiating.

He's not going to sit out Training Camp, losing not just the 2.5 million but more importantly the accrued season and all that money. If he's not in camp, we're doing this again next year.

I can not emphasize enough to people. Aaron Rodgers does not live in Green Bay in the offseason. He has a MASSIVE Malibu mansion. He lives in GB approximately 24 weeks per year.

Woodley doesn't live in LA either. Filming of movies/shows, the parts that you need actors for, takes place in Atlanta and Vancouver. Not Los Angeles. She lives in those cities 24+ weeks at a time. There's no scenario where those two are sitting down for dinner at 6 o'clock every weeknight. They both know this.

Also, San Francisco is not near Los Angeles either. It's a 6 hour drive if traffic in and out of either city isn't bad (hint: it is).

I might be talking out my *** but I get the impression guys employed in those spots have pretty good feels about who might be on the stuff. I know some stuff from lower level college like this a bit where guys from the other schools could nearly predict who was going to pop next. Maybe it's not the same but yeah. That's always been my feel about the pros. Seen guys who hadn't popped once that I knew off but was suspicious of over the years that all the sudden just never got signed again and stuff

Could be. As I said, if the Packers somehow knew, good catch. If not, it's a fortunate hindsight fact that plays zero role in evaluating Gute's decision to not pull the trigger. Simple as that.

Well thought out counter argument.  First point I've heard several times that he doesn't want to return to GB and he is dug in.  I'll admit it's been all over the place.  So guess you have to decide what you believe and what you don't.  Trying to force a trade and crapping on the Packers during the draft doesn't seem to me to be just a negotiating tactic.  Little more serious than that.

How do you know he wants a fully guaranteed contract until 2025?  This hasn't been reported and is speculation on your part.

Don't be sure about skipping training camp.  2.5 million is nothing to him.  He can return at any time believe all he has to do is be on the active roster for 3 games to get an accrued season.  Even if he skips camp and decides to come and play for the Packers they will take him back with open arms and he knows it.

Yes we all know he doesn't live here in the offseason.  6 months in GB is a long time 7 if you include the post season.  Aaron will be in GB and I doubt Shailine wants to be here.  You seem to know a lot about Actors.  Where did you come up with Vancouver and Atlanta?

San Francisco is near Rodgers hometown and was his favorite team growing up.  It's a lot closer than GB.  Seems logical he would want to return home and play for his favorite team.  Shailiene must be OK with it.  He tried like hell to force a trade on the day of the draft.  SF even called the Packers.  Lest you forget.  I'll agree SF is a crapshow literally.  I would never want to live there either but that doesn't mean Aaron doesn't.  He's a California boy.

Believe Shailene currently resides in Denver.  Hmmm Denver the team most rumored for him to be traded too.

It's pretty obvious to me but hey we all have our opinions.  Your entitled to your speculation and I'm entitled to mine.  It's all speculation Alex.  We have nothing to go on but speculation.  I don't believe he is interested in negotiating a long term guaranteed contract with the Packers.  He wants out.  We'll find out come fall.  This will be dragging on for awhile yet.

Schefty backing off his story and stating that it WASN'T Rodgers camp to leak the trade demand tells us that he isn't serious about it. If Rodgers was serious about the trade, that refutation wouldn't have come out.

Moving on from him in 2023 is painful for the Packers. They reached out to him with an extension, he declined. That tells me logically the extension would have kept him here until 2024. That he declined tells me he wants 2025. This also aligns with his McAfee conversations about playing until he's 40+ and about how he considers guys like Kobe, Bird, and Duncan special for having only played for one franchise their entire careers.

The 2.5 million is just the irrevokable fine for no showing camp. He also would lose the entirety of his base salary and the Packers could come after him for the prorated signing bonus and restructure money for this year. He also losses out on the accrued year. So he doesn't advance a year in his contract. He would still have 3 years left on his deal. That's a huge net loss for him.

As far as Vancouver and Atlanta. Stay to the end of any production. The last line in the credits is either a picture of the Georgia film logo or a thank you to the Canadian Film Tourism group. Those two areas have huge tax deductions for film production. The cost to film in California from a tax and labor perspective is absurdly high. Film production and editing is still in California and that's where Directors and actors are when not filming, but filming takes place elsewhere.

San Francisco might be where he wants to be, but it isn't because of Woodley.  They also drafted Trey Lance #3 overall.  They're gonna ride that horse.

San Francisco calling the Packers doesn't mean anything. You have to make the call. Doesn't mean you expect anything to come out of it. Considering the Love pick, Gute was probably answering a lot of those calls.

Denver is a rumored destination for a lot of reasons. It's an AFC team. Who else in the AFC is looking for QBs?

Patriots: Maybe, they drafted Jones

Jets: they drafted their QBOTF

Dolphins: Maybe, they have Tua

Bills: Nah

Browns/Ravens/Bengals: Nah

Steelers: have Ben and can't really afford it.

Chiefs/Chargers: Nah

Raiders/Broncos: Rumored

Colts: Maybe, but Carson Wentz was just acquired.

Titans: Tannehill's locked in here

Texans: What the hell are you doing here?

Jags: Nah

There's just not a ton of options for contender caliber roster, with cap space, without a QB.

Shefty backing off was CYA mode.  I don't believe for a second that didn't come from Dunn with Aaron's approval.  Not for a second.  If he sits all year out then yes he will lose big.  One way or another I find that a highly unlikely scenario.  Either he reluctantly plays for the Packers or he is traded.  My guess is he reluctantly plays for the Packers and is traded in the offseason.

You are trying to connect dots just as I am.  We are just starting from different assumptions.  Yes there are other teams we could trade him too.  We'll see what happens he'd have to agree to it first.

From what I gather he wants to be out West.  Again near his woman.  Woodley hasn't had a gig since 2017.   Also she is a Socialist and activist.  Great.  Maybe she can convince Rodgers to give up his massive paycheck and play for the Packers for free. She's out of work at the moment.  So no travel plans to Vancouver or Atlanta.  Probably wants to have babies now.   She's at that age 29.

Ship has sailed obviously in SF.  It was a last ditch effort on his part to get traded there.  Believe this was the sole reason for the draft day debacle.  They drafted Lance it's done.  His dreams shattered.  Yah I'll shed a tear for him NOT!

I seriously don't believe he wants to play in GB anymore.  It's the last place Woodley would ever want to be.  Talk about a fish out of water.  I really do believe a lot of this has to do with her.  We will  of course never know.  Just more speculation.  If Rodgers signs a long term guaranteed contract I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong.  See odds of that next to nil.

Don't think he'll show up for day 1 of training camp.  If he does show it will be at the last possible moment.  As I mentioned he may just dig in and not show at all.  Use the ole Carson Palmer playbook.  Rodgers gets traded in Mid Oct.  Seems to me both the Packers and Rodgers are dug in.  So wouldn't surprise me.  If compromise he plays 1 more year and gets traded.  The most likely scenario.  We'll see if he gets the itch to return.

"It's all just a beautiful mystery"  What a prick.

Entirely possible. Then why not force a trade? Maybe that's what he wants but that hasn't exactly been what we heard

He did try to force a trade.  That happened on the day of the draft when his agent dropped the bomb.  Unfortunately the Packers aren't playing ball.  All he has left is to hold out.  Which he's doing.  Thinking he is trying to do this under cover as to protect his legacy in GB.  He's lost half of us already.  Why he hasn't come out publicly.

He could escalate it and use the Palmer route either trade me or I'm going to retire.  That could be what is coming next.  If he does that he'll lose his fanbase for good.  Really make a mess of things.

So here we are playing the waiting game.  Who breaks first the Packers or Rodgers?  Do they agree one more season and he is traded compromise?  Does Rodgers simply not show and sit until he is traded?  Who knows.  Watched MLF presser he looked pretty dejected.  He knows what's coming and it's going to be a damn mess.

Now we wait until training camp.  Packers should really just put an end to this before it gets even uglier.  Take the massive trade offer now and move on.  Rodgers has become a cancer.  Really want to see a disgruntled Rodgers under center?  Shades of 2018 all over again.  No thanks.  We'll take a hit with Love no doubt but we are going to take a hit either way IMO.

FWIW, I think you’ve been taking this all too personally.  I get a jilted-lover vibe every time I read one of your posts.  Like visceral bitterness.  None of us are happy to be in this spot, and I think we all agree Rodgers could’ve handled the situation differently.  That said, most everyone outside of Rodgers and GB have a very incomplete picture of the situation.  Don’t let it become a complete drain of emotional energy.

Holding a strong opinion without all the relevant particulars in hand is:

a) super irrational

b) super-duper

c) Rodgers fault

d) as American as apple pie

I initially thought and still partially do that this is all about his contract and cash and he has had to act like a brat to generate any leverage but I do buy into the 'Woodley effect.' If nothing else she is a catalyst.

What has changed my view on this has been Andrew Brandt, in his interviews he has repeatedly stated if this was about the money it would already be sorted. Sitting down and coming to some financial/security/trade guarantee arrangement is easy. He feels it is something else that prevents this moving on to those kind of discussions.

I do also see a softening of stance over time and that might be down to that he just doesn't have options this year to do it and I reckon he'll be back at camp just because as much as he wants the move it ain't gonna happen now. In his mind he might look at it and go to Woodley 'look it is just another 6 months in Green Bay and then it is done.'
