There's a reason King is back and Pettine isn't.

100%. It's inconceivable to me how we didn't adjust to - at least - some kind of cover three on third-downs in the first half (and that's not saying anything about the literal last play of the half where we should have been playing the endzone regardless). All Brady had was a duck throw before the break that either had a guy come open, or was the source of a bunch of ints in the the second.

If Burnett doesn't slide in Seattle and if King had safety help on that play - we're talking about three Rodgers rings versus 5 Brady rings. Different conversation probably, especially if Atlanta didn't choke. But the Seattle game had give or take a couple, 15 plays like that, uggh.

This forum is just very high on King while others are way too low on the guy. He's okay. Was the wrong pick though and Gute knows it too or Stokes wouldn't be here right now.

What if he had gone elsewhere in FA to the delight of the GB fans who were frustrated by his injuries and didn’t want to re-sign him and then he went on to become a Pro Bowl CB followed by those same GB fans being pissed off that we didn’t re-sign him?  Bcuz that exact same thing happened around here with Casey Hayward lol.

Add Micah Hyde to that list

Burnett sliding had absolutely nothing to do with us losing. He picked off their offense and our legendary QB is supposed to be able to run out the clock. You think Burnett was taking that to the house? Come on!

In both of those scenarios we still had to win the next game, which isn't a given.

Not letting you do this.

Our defense was lights out that game.

That game was on Rodgers and McCarthy

Fair point, Hayward was much more popular with casual fans than King ever was though so I can’t imagine the pushback being quite the same.

Nah .. if Burnett keeps running the Packers would have been tacking on more points as he would have been far into field goal range.

Rodgers was part of the problem, but not front and center.  McCarthy was super conservative and his team took on that identity .. highlighted by a couple field goal attempts from the one and that stupid slide down by Burnett with 5 minutes left in the game.

4 INTS,

5 sacks

8 three outs.

Held Russell Wilson to under 100 yards going into the 4th.

Nope we are not blaming the defense at all on this with the "Goat" QB.

How about Clinton Dix with one of the worst reactions ever to a wobbly cross field two point pass from Wilson?  That was a huge non-play in that game.  The previously mentioned slide down from Burnett was off the charts silly.  Sticking Tramon Williams on the island one on one with no safety help in OT .. the defense carries at least some blame, although probably the least amount of the three phases.

We could go into each of these, but there's no point; these things were an issue because the offense simply could not produce in any meaningful way.  Even constantly gifted great field position, they scored 16 points on 12 drives; that simply cannot happen, and if it does, whatever happens is on you.

Call a spade a spade.

The defense had a fantastic game. The offense, Rodgers included, SUCKED.
