Like the player, hate watching Pace continue to give away picks. Hope there's a plan for replacing Robinson, Leno, Hicks, Trevathan, Gipson, etc. next season.

Next season the cap isn't an issue so we shouldn't be worried about that...especially if Fields starts early and plays well...much easier to get FAs here...

Another thing I will say is as much as trading away draft picks is never great as of 2019 30% of all NFL roster were made up of undrafted players...if I see the Bears only making 5 or 6 picks this year and know that they have FAs next offseason you bet I am wanting to go there as an UDFA to give myself the best chance of getting a job.

Uh....not gonna happen this year.  Dalton is 100% gtd his $10 mil so that's $10 mil dead cap if he's released.  $ 7 mil if traded.  Foles dead cap would $14.3 mil if released but can be reduced to $5.3 mil if traded.  Good luck unloading either unless someone really needs a vet QB.

Foles guarantees have been paid, I believe they can release him after June 1 for like $1m.  I dont think they are in a hurry to do so, but they certainly could.

Pace still has 4 6th rounders to use to trade up with.  I hope if he sees a guy there that he likes then go all in and get him. May as well. If he's gonna swing....swing big.

One 5th & three 6ths left now after trading up to take Jenkins ...but yes I know what you mean

You had to know they wanted that 5th back.  That's Pace's best round.  I might package 2 more 6ths together and get another 5 too.

1. A third to basically move up twice is good(in the 2nd a 6th to the 5th) Plus just the player we got was worth it.

2. To your point I would trade a bunch of those 6ths haha.....the Bears arent one of those teams that just need players. We need quality, we have a ton of those 6th rd/practice squad guys

They arent planning on replacing Robinson, they just drafted Leno's replacement.  Hicks replacement is already on the roster and likely to be extended this offseason.  They have proven they can throw any replacement level safety next to E-Jax and get decent production.  Trevathan is not particularly difficult to replace at this point.  Not sure what the debbie downer stuff is here.

Hopefully getting Fields motivates Robinson enough to be willing to sit down again and work out an extension. This would save money this year and keep him long-term.

Not according to this.  https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/nick-foles-9898/  I count only $12 mil and change paid out of the $21 mil guaranteed.  His 2021 salary is guaranteed along with $1 mil of his 2022 salary and a $ 4 mil roster bonus.  He's gonna be the best paid rookie's big brother and bench coach in the NFL.  LOL

Current Contract

Nick Foles signed a 3 year, $24,000,000 contract with the Chicago Bears, including a $8,000,000 signing bonus, $21,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,000,000. So Pace has made the perfect draft imo so far. These are the two guys I wish we could have gotten.

Jenkins is a bad bad man. He will bring the toughness we got with Long.

Pace is making me eat my words and I LOVE it.

I'd posted before that saving his job is as much as anything based on the success of this draft and so far he's rated as having an A+/1st and an A/2nd.  That's a pretty good start and finish.

1. Robinson just wants to get paid, we ageeting ready to have both QB's off the books and probably sign a vet minimum type guy(next year obviously)

2. Leno is already replaced, Jenkins will play RT this year but easily could move to LT, and we have a ton of those late round guys who can play RT.

3. Not sure what you mean about Hicks, I think we pay him but we have Nichols anyway who played his role the full year and with Goldman coming back...yikes!

4. Trevathan and Gipson are just vet free agents, haha.....I dont know if we need a plan for those guys necessarily .....like are you thinking we arent getting any players with those 4 6th rounders?
