High likelihood this was a wasted pick given how unlikely QBs succeed in the middle of the draft. But with four third round picks, why not. I don’t want to be tied to Cousins and having a developed option two years from now when they have to do something with Cousins isn’t a bad move.

You do realize 3 of the top 15 QBs are were drafted in the 3rd or 4th rounds?

And what’s the track record of QBs drafted in the mid round that turn in to good backups?

Backup QB is still a very important position.

I just preferred a guy you WANT to start there....but it isn't the end of the world, it is the 3rd round....not 2nd or 1st...

At this point he's only a guy to replace our backup. He has lots of work to do to pass Cousins.

I doubt he'll ever pass Cousins but could he replace him if they decide to trade Cousins after the year or let him walk?

I can’t disagree with you, but it’s just become a fact that QBs get over drafted by about a full round.

I think Mond has the physical talent to be a starter. Now you just hope to see if he can develop
